Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Designer with extensive experience in Siemens NX to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in maritime design and a comprehensive understanding of electrical design principles. This role involves serving as a subject matter expert for a major prime contractor for the US Navy, and leading a small team of up to 10 people. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of all product deliverables.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development:Utilize Siemens NX for electrical design and documentation.Review and translate power and communication electrical diagrams to the design model.Ensure proper cable segregation and adherence to standards.Design main and local wireway routing, ensuring compliance with watertight and firetight boundary methods.Apply grounding standards in accordance with STD-1310.Technical Expertise:Provide general equipment familiarization and technical guidance.Ensure designs meet IEEE standards and overall electrical best practices.Serve as the final quality checker for all electrical design deliverables.Team Leadership:Lead and mentor a team of up to 10 electrical designers.Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes.Client Interaction:Act as the primary point of contact for the client, addressing technical queries and providing expert advice.Ensure client requirements are met and exceeded through innovative and reliable design solutions.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on maritime applications.Proficiency in Siemens NX.Experience with power and communication diagrams, cable segregation, and fire protection guidelines.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Teamcenter.Work Environment
