Our client, a leader in custom manufacturing located in Middlesex County is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who is passionate about designing, and motion systems. This is a direct hire, hybrid opportunity accompanied by outstanding benefits.
This individual will be responsible for the design and development of custom motion solutions for major customers in the US, Europe and Asia. The ideal candidates possess a solid aptitude or background in designing digital and analog electronic control systems. The candidate will be required to generate sound technical concepts, innovative and qualify new designs in a dynamic project development environment. Beyond the design, the candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, measuring, tuning, and analyzing system performance data. You will excel at this role if you love to be a key member of a fast-paced team. You will work in both Team and individual settings.
Responsibilities:
+ Gather and analyze requirements, generate specifications, design architectures, and outline system interfaces through communications to generate concept and cost models and assist with proposals.
+ Define, architect, and lead the implementation of projects related to the precision motion systems, in addition to maintaining traceability matrices across requirements, design, and testing through the Project Development Process
+ Create and manage project documentation (Altium, AutoCAD or schematic tool). Including: electrical schematics, interconnect drawings, component selection, software development, Bill of Materials (BOM), processing engineering change requests and orders (ECR/ECO), installation and operating instructions
+ Lead engineering development activities through the established Project Development Process using best engineering practices.
+ Develop and document analytical models of system behavior and interactions and define a clear path towards effective utilization of modeling and simulation techniques.
+ Ensure compliance of the new systems with design controls and all regulatory requirements such as CE, UL, RoHS, REACH, etc.
+ Assemble and Test rapid prototype new concepts and machines to mitigate technical risks on new development concepts.
+ Use multiple controller and drive products from internal and external suppliers such as Kollmorgen, Elmo, Galil and PMD to setup and run tests.
Key Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering is required (Master’s Preferred)
+ Strong understanding of the fundamentals of Physics - mechanics and electromagnetics
+ 5+ years of electrical engineering experience and a proven understanding of servo control and as demonstrated by numerous implementations.
+ Experience with Motion Controls, Drives, and Optical Encoders
+ Experience in coordinating and managing the electrical design phases of technical engineering projects in the design of motion engineering projects.
+ Ability to perform engineering mathematical analysis (utilizing tools such as MathCAD or MATLAB)
+ Ability to interface with code developed in languages such as C, C++, C#, Python and LabVIEW.
+ Prior experience in using CAD software (AutoCAD, Altium) to generate various levels of electrical documentation.

+ A broad experience base using multiple electrical engineering tools across several disciplines.
+ Analog circuit design experience
+ Theoretical understanding and practical experiences of servo control implementation (not PLC’s)

Compensation: 120K-150K
**Pay Details:** $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
