We have an opportunity for an NPD Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our Apex, NC team. Our teams in Apex are focused on sustainable enjoyment of water through design of pool pad products. We work on a wide range of IoT based product lines that help make pool maintenance and upkeep easy and effortless for our customers. Our site houses a state-of-the-art test lab for design testing and validation, and we work hand in hand with our manufacturing counterparts across North America to bring products to life. You will:
Lead large scale new product development projects and product enhancements.
Design technically advanced products while thriving in a creative, high volume, working environment.
Actively support NPD projects from concept to post release with strong sense of urgency and action.
Design and develop prototypes with scopes ranging from specific concepts to comprehensive, functional products.
Utilize intellect and best engineering practices throughout Pentair’s product development process.
Lead and mentor others in all aspects of embedded hardware development and full integration into varied electro-mechanical product platforms.
Execute all aspects of design validation including prototyping, lab, and field testing, pilot, and initial production runs.
Support development of product specification and technical requirements documents.
Meet with vendors and suppliers to review part and product technical requirements.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
10 years of electrical engineering experience minimum.
6+ years of Altium 365 design experience minimum.
Experience working with domestic compliance regulations with UL, FCC, and NSF.
Proven design experience in a product development environment, or equivalent combination of technical education and internship experience.
Advanced knowledge designing, prototyping, and testing PCB assemblies for embedded systems (Altium Designer preferred).
Experience in hardware design validation through empirical analysis, modeling, or experimental test methods.
Confident use of C/C++ for embedded systems.
Ability to work within and meet aggressive deadlines with thorough understanding of product development design cycles from initial concept to mass production.
Demonstrated to be detail oriented, have solid organizational skills, be capable of multi-tasking and have strong written and oral communication skills.
Proven thought leader with the ability to translate ideas into action steps.
Experience developing process improvements to improve product development efficiency.
Strong problem-solving skills in the face of complex problems with use of root cause analysis.
Proven capabilities to lead a cross-functional team (including internation team members).
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Some domestic and international travel may be required.
Compensation:
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $95500 - $177300 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
