Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Interior and Exterior Components and SystemsJob Description We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our world-class Interior and Exterior Components and Systems engineering team. The successful candidate will create and validate technically and economically innovative solutions for luxury, performance, safety, ergonomics, functionality, and cost-effective interior and exterior components or systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure technical excellence and timely delivery. Responsibilities + Create and validate industry-leading novel interior and exterior components or systems solutions. + Identify new solution providers, evaluate them based on expectations and targets, and share findings across the organization. + Support the design engineering teams in discovering new features, solutions, and resolving issues. + Collaborate within a cross-functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing the overall benefit of the vehicle. + Develop and employ innovative tools and approaches to support development. + Work closely with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery of interior components and systems. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience as an Interior or Exterior Components and Systems development lead. + Knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier competencies. + Experience in creating/improving/establishing technical product specifications and timelines for accelerated development cycles. + Proficiency in CAD for creating 2D/3D concept drawings, packaging layouts, and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred). + Hands-on experience with vehicle and product launch processes. + Experience leading innovative process or product development. + Ability to analyze part manufacturing processes and costs. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a fast-paced startup environment. + Experience with one full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive interior and/or exterior components and systems. + Profound knowledge of vehicle interior and/or exterior components and systems with a track record of technical excellence and program execution. + Strong competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T. + A strong desire to create the best product, working as part of a capable team. + Practical hands-on approach to complement theoretical knowledge. + Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills. Work Environment The work environment includes collaborating with cross-functional teams using innovative tools and approaches. The role may involve working closely with suppliers and adapting to a fast-paced startup environment. Dress code and other facility conditions will be communicated upon hiring.
