Personal Computing Services (PCS) Application Development exists as an end-to-end solution to deliver associates quality computing devices. Our goal is to ensure that the right processes, people, and technologies are in place to meet our customers’ expectations of our services. This position is for a Software Engineer Sr Developer in the Columbus area. This is a hybrid role and open to work from home with the right candidate.

This role is responsible for supporting the team with our overall goals of maintaining our current system as well as designing our future PCaaS system using Angular and API connections. This team supports many small applications as well as the PCaaS (PC as a Service) for our internal customers, Endpoint Engineering, Software Management and Support teams. We are looking for self-motivated, growth-oriented C# developers who work well in a remote agile environment.

Technical Experience (Strongly Desired)

Web development using Javascript or a modern framework such as Angular, Vue, or React. (Team will use Angular)

C#/.Net development with Entity Framework

REST API development

MS SQL Server

Git

Technical Experience (Preferred)

Full stack development experience

Writing stored procedures and views in SQL Server

Unit testing (xUnit.Net)

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices. 

Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques. 

Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation. 

Manages project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively. 

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree. 

Experience: Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. 

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
