Primary Responsibilities
The Transportation Division/Traffic Engineering and ITS Business Class of HDR is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Traffic Operations Engineer in our traffic engineering group for immediate employment in our LA region offices. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Traffic Engineering planning and analysis specific to public works and traffic improvement projects as well as experience in emerging technology related traffic engineering issues. HDR is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects and task leadership positions. The successful candidate can look forward to projects including assignments such as the LAX Program Management, LA Metro, OCTA projects, Nevada DOT On Call contract, Sepulveda Transit Corridor, I-605 CIP and the Shoemaker Bridge Improvement projects. This candidate will be involved in the development and support of many other challenging multi-modal projects for agencies like LA Metro, City of LA, City of Long Beach, OCTA, SBCTA, TLMA and RCTC as well as other clients. The primary duties of this senior position include providing planning for the production of traffic operations analysis and oversight of large area traffic analysis as well as emerging technology system planning. You must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity while planning and developing projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs. May serve as deputy or project manager on larger traffic projects, however, project management is not the sole focus of position.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineeringand Transportation EngineeringPE license is requiredMinimum of 10 minimum years experience in ITS and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges and intersectionsA minimum of 6 years traffic analysis, operations and traffic engineeringKnowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agenciesHands-on experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, AIMSUN, VISSIM and other advanced traffic analysis tools.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word as well as other software and databases integral in our businessStrong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and ability to work in a team environmentAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications
