Role Summary Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Engineering Manager of Software Development to lead the development of innovative video gaming capabilities for our cutting-edge electric vehicles. This role will be pivotal in designing the in-car entertainment experience, integrating immersive gaming technologies, and creating unique customer interactions that set Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies apart in the automotive market. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering, a passion for gaming, and extensive leadership experience in the automotive or tech industry. Responsibilities Develop and execute a strategic vision for in-car gaming capabilities that enhance the user experience. Build and lead a high-performing software development team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Oversee multiple projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with our brand values and engineering standards. Collaborate with game developers, technology providers, and automotive industry experts to establish partnerships for integrating gaming content. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies in gaming and automotive software. Work closely with the UX/UI team to design intuitive and engaging interfaces for the gaming experience. Implement best practices and quality assurance measures to ensure the reliability and performance of gaming software. Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership and other stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in software development with a focus on gaming or interactive technologies. Proven experience in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex software projects. Strong understanding of video game development processes and methodologies (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine). Knowledge of automotive software development processes and standards is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for innovative thinking and creative solutions. Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A passion for gaming and an understanding of user experience design principles. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: 237,000 USD - 297,000 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
