PJ Food Service – Project Engineer

We are looking for a Project Engineer with hands on experience providing project development and implementation for both new and existing QCC equipment and infrastructure.  This position will need to have strong manufacturing and warehousing experience and be able to collaborate with multi-site operations.  An Ideal candidate will have food manufacturing experience as well as experience managing multiple projects going concurrently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop and coordinate implementation and installation of QCC projects.Review and endorse all project appropriation requests.Develop and maintain long-term strategic plan for capital projects that include equipment replacement and productivity improvement/cost savings in step with up to date industry technology and continuous improvement methodology.Provide leadership over process and design improvements, including equipment selection, economic analysis, preparation of appropriation requests, bidding and contractor selection.Evaluate technical feasibility of QCC projects.Track energy savings and initiatives for projects.Provide technical support to QCC Operations. maintenance, quality, and operations teams for projects.Function as a key member on the PJFS Corporate Team leading and demonstrating Papa John’s Core values while ensuring daily business and customer service objectives are achieved.Provide demonstrated leadership in safety awareness and performance in QCC Operations.Establish department goals and objectives in alignment with QCC Operations and Company goals.Lead and participate in all capital projects as necessary.Coordinate contingency plans with the QC Center Leadership Teams in order to minimize operational interruptions for projects.Coordinate all projects with QA and safety teams to ensure all food safety, contractor safety, and employee safety related items are reviewed and communicated for safe completion of all projects.Ability to travel up to 60% of time.Collaborate with all engineering staff as needed for successful completion of projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Environmental Engineering 

·       Minimum 5 years hands on project management experience. Preferably in a food service/design/manufacturing setting 

·       Ability to work with multidisciplinary trades, technical specialists, field operators, and construction personnel. 

·       Strong project management skills managing multiple disciplines across the life cycle of the project.  PMP certification would be a plus. 

·       Excellent communication with a proven history working cross-functionally with various teams from project ideation through field execution. 

·       Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written skills 

·       Ability to read construction plans, equipment and shop drawings, P&IDs, etc. 

·       Proficient in MS Office Suite with a solid understanding of CAD programs 

·       Understanding of industry and equipment level certification requirements. 

·       Experience with energy management software.

·       Understanding of environmental standards such as Greenhouse Gas Protocol, LEED, TRUE, and ISO 14000.
