Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Equipment Specialist to provide support for weapons systems and associated equipment at Robins AFB. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities Support program requirements to include but not limited to: D043, Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAV AF), Fedmall, Joint Engineering Data Management Information and Control System (JEDMICS), Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS), Haystack and other databases relating to the aircraft and its systems to help determine problem areas on assigned systems and items. Assist with recommending and developing executable programs to be considered for use in ensuring the operation and evaluation of assigned systems. Advise technicians on methods of resolving unusual troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system 62 malfunctions, conduct research and analysis, and resolve equipment problems with long term AF-wide implications. Serve as a technical advisor to senior leaders and maintenance technicians in maintenance, operation and training for the assigned weapon system and associated equipment. Assist with all necessary support management actions required to establish and maintain the combat effectiveness of the assigned aircraft and equipment. Assist in accomplishing studies, review and analysis of technical problems/malfunctions affecting assigned equipment generated from a variety of sources, including but not limited to Technical Assistance Requests (TARs), DRs, AFTO Form 22/252s, MSTG/SSG, telephone calls, Innovative Development through Employee Awareness (IDEA) and aircraft mishaps. Recommend appropriate corrective actions. Assist in evaluating technical adequacy and economic feasibility. Assist in determining the method of implementation, i.e., TCTO or technical order change. Support all aspects and levels of program IPTs to include but not limited to, engineering, program management, other equipment specialists, lead and chief engineers and civilian and military leadership within the division, other AFLCMC directorates, AFLCMC headquarters, AFRC, AMC, ACC, NGB, AFSOC, prime weapon system contractors and subcontractors, and other Government and private sector personnel. Assist Government equipment specialists, integrators and engineers in conducting special research projects as assigned. Support the USAF PM in all tasks related to this effort. Support trial installations, kit proofs, and TCTO/technical data verification. Assist in reporting findings, kit issues, and corrective actions and make recommendations to the responsible engineer or PM. Support feasibility studies and technical evaluations (with the exception of source selections) to ensure that systems, subsystems and equipment being developed are mutually compatible and serve to meet overall operational and technical requirements. Qualifications15+ years experience in equipment maintenance and support including at least 5 years working in a DoD environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment. Recommend areas for improvement and evaluate technical adequacy and economic feasibility. Possess the knowledge, experience and recognized ability in the technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior personnel within the technical/professional discipline. Demonstrate knowledge of technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications, Adobe Acrobat, and web applications. Knowledge of logistics policy and guidance to include Title 10 U.S. Code Section 2466, Limitations on the Performance of Depot-Level Maintenance of Materiel (as amended by the National Defense Authorization Acts [NDAAs]), and all applicable AF systems. Understands the theories and principles of ILS planning, development, and execution sufficient to coordinate and integrate functions into a total, well structured, and viable program. Demonstrate a working knowledge of logistics and maintainability programs to include, but not be limited to, product support RAM-C program test and evaluation planning and execution, technical evaluation and identification of weapon systems logistics requirements and resources. Demonstrate an understanding of budgetary or financial analysis and control and life cycle cost analysis and control. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
