We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our C3M team! The ideal candidate must have a strong knowledge of construction principals including General Requirements, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical. We seek a self-starter that is detail oriented, displays good interpersonal skills and has a passion for the construction industry.
Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the Company
Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects
Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including scope determinations and accurate quantity survey
Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and evaluate them for accuracy
Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy
Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids
Assist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirements
Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation
Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs
Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods
Examine construction sites and observe unusual or challenging conditions
Basic Qualifications
Passionate about profession, dedicated to winning work and willing to take pride and ownership of work product
9+ yrs of electrical estimating experience is required
Rail/mass transit systems (Traction Power, Overhead Catenary, Train Control, Communications) estimating experience preferred
Highway/ITS/traffic signal, water/wastewater, aviation, maintenance facility, power, industrial and other highly technical project experience a plus
Demonstrate the ability to lead individual projects or pursuits and be a part of a team for large projects and pursuits
Knowledge of Electrical Bid Estimating Software. Accubid experience a plus
Demonstrate the ability to either lead or be a part of a team for multiple projects and pursuits
Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
Must be detail oriented, technically sound and have good communication skills
Familiar with both conceptual and self-perform estimating
