About the Team PetSmart Veterinary Services (PVS) is an independent veterinary ownership model that is rapidly growing inside PetSmart locations in the US and Puerto Rico. PVS provides a complete solution for veterinarians to open their own franchised veterinary practice. Launched in 2022, PVS hospitals connect pet parents with local, trusted veterinarians with convenient veterinarian hospital locations within PetSmart stores. It’s a simple but powerful solution that gives veterinarians ownership and control of their practice while providing high-quality veterinary care. About the Location Hybrid Position: This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a workspace at the Canada Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs. About the Job About This Job The Sr Events Specialist is responsible for the comprehensive implementation of the PVS conference and events strategy, with a key focus on executing sales and development brand messaging across conferences, events, social platforms, webinars, and other related channels. In addition, this role will build and share content and create compelling visuals on behalf of the sales/ development team. This role partners with the sales/development and Marketing teams to drive brand awareness, generate leads, build the sales pipeline, and promote the PVS value proposition to both internal and external stakeholders. The Sr. Events Specialist/ Manager will also manage a large budget, ensuring financial accountability across all event-related activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Planning and Execution: Manage the PVS conference and events strategy, including identifying relevant industry events and opportunities for brand messaging execution. Develop goals and objectives for each event with clear success metrics aligned to sales, development, and brand objectives. Execute strategies to build the sales pipeline, generate leads, and assist with sales conversion at events. Create and manage project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are met on time. Create and deploy the internal and external logistics communications plan related to conferences and events. Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, including budgeting, cost analysis, ROI and venue selection. Oversee and track a large event budget, ensuring financial accountability and cost-effective decision-making. Marketing, Communications and Brand Alignment: Create and align the editorial calendar and the events calendars with the overall PVS strategies and timelines. Collaborate with the sales team, PVS agency, and PVS Marketing team to create and execute integrated pre-, during-, and post-event marketing campaigns that align with sales and development objectives. Develop and manage event-specific promotional materials such as direct mailers, digital assets, signage, and giveaways. Drive brand awareness through strategic sponsorships, co-marketing programs, and creative engagement tactics, ensuring alignment with overall brand strategy. Develop and manage content- Execute brand messaging and communication strategies through events and social media platforms, ensuring alignment with brand messaging to enhance the PVS value proposition. Capture and create compelling event-related content, including photos, videos, and testimonials, for use across digital platforms. Respond to and monitor social media engagement, building brand awareness and community engagement. Create visually compelling, data-driven presentations to clearly communicate event outcomes, sales data, and key metrics. Develop and design presentation decks and other event collateral to ensure a visually cohesive and professional brand experience. Prepare visually appealing, data-driven presentations, infographics, blog posts, and advertisements to promote events and sales initiatives. Collaborate with the Marketing team to draft and distribute event-related communications and press releases. Event Logistics and Coordination: Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including travel planning, conference and attendee registration, booth selection, signage, and supply ordering. Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) to ensure event objectives align with broader business goals. Manage on-site event activities, including setup, AV testing, speaker coordination, registration, and troubleshooting. Provide guidance and training to staff to ensure consistent and professional event execution across all touchpoints. Post-Event Reporting and Analysis: Process and analyze leads generated from events, ensuring timely handover to the sales team for follow-up. Prepare detailed post-event reports, including KPIs, ROI assessments, and qualitative feedback. Lead post-event debriefs to identify areas for improvement and future opportunities. Document and implement process improvements to streamline event planning and evaluation. Additional, Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update the master events calendar, ensuring accurate booth staffing schedules and tracking key deadlines. Track expenses, process invoices, and manage event budgets to ensure financial accountability within the $3 million allocated budget. Manage the inventory, ordering, and shipping of conference supplies, marketing materials, and giveaways. Serve as the point of contact for franchisees related to recruitment education and staffing best practices. Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives related to event planning and execution. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality management, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in full-cycle event management, from large-scale conferences to small, targeted events. Demonstrated project management experience, including timeline creation and stakeholder coordination. Project management certificate is encouraged. Expertise in social media content creation, corporate event promotion, and brand messaging. Experience in graphic design, including the creation of digital assets, presentations, and visual storytelling. Proficiency with data visualization, and strength in simplifying complex information into visually appealing graphics. Required Knowledge and Skills: Proven success in managing multiple events and priorities simultaneously. Organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Collaborative mindset with the ability to interact effectively across cross-functional teams and at all organizational levels. Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills. Agility to pivot quickly, problem-solve creatively, and create seamless outcomes when unplanned challenges arise. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret event metrics and drive actionable insights. Willingness to travel >50% and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Expertise in project management. Proficiency in graphic design and presentation design software, including Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, or similar tools. Expertise with marketing automation platforms and tools such as Cvent, MailChimp, and CRM platforms. Physical Demands and Work Environment Typical business office environment with on-site event requirements and travel >50%.
