Purpose

Musselwhite Mine is currently seeking an energetic Senior Exploration Geologist to join our team.  Reporting directly to the Exploration Manager, the successful candidate will have a high focus on safety and environmental protection in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities Responsible for leading a team of technical and non-technical staff.Supervise Exploration work including but not limited to, drilling programs both underground and on surface.Commitment to drive KPI elements and assist others in meeting objectives.Ensure that Company and Industry standards are followed in all Exploration activities.Ensure all safety, environmental, and cultural standards are adhered to.Responsible for career development of staff.Applying knowledge and experience to mentoring and training Exploration Geologists. Will assist with semi-annual and annual Performance Management duties.Assist in the development and implementation of the Exploration strategy.Accountable for the quality and accuracy of all geologic data.Budget preparation and submittal, cost tracking, completing projects on budget and within planned time frames, and achieve performance measures. Provide accurate explanations of budget variations. Responsible for delivering on annual ounce targets.All senior level geologists are expected to be fully participating technical geologists. Additionally, any managerial or supervisory responsibilities, including: geologic mapping, drill core or chip logging, drill hole planning, drill program execution, computer deposit modeling, hydrologic and metallurgical investigations, etc. Effectively work across multi-functional lines.Employees will perform other duties as directed and needed by the Company to ensure optimal safe operation.Requirements 4-year B.Sc. degree in Geology or equivalent8-10 years of exploration-related industry experienceEligible for registration as a professional geologistExperience with Leapfrog, Vulcan, and Deswik software is considered an assetSupervisory experience is requiredAbility to evaluate/peer review 3 dimensional modelsStrong analytical and organization skills Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening, presentation)Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 45lbsAbility to frequently reach below and at-shoulder levelStrong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible mannerExperience working in a culturally diverse environment an assetWorking Conditions

The work schedule for this position can be 14 on,14 days off, or 7 on, 7 days off, including travel to site, working 12-hour days.
