We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, ultramodern factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas. Position Summary: Conduct comprehensive technical project reviews and compile detailed written reports. Assess the performance of equipment and systems to pinpoint areas for improvement. Troubleshoot issues related to facility power distribution systems, as well as various electrical hardware, including AC and DC motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor control centers (MCCs). Develop proposals and recommendations for corrective actions based on the findings. Essential Duties: Establish energy management and building control programs. Assess the need for equipment replacement and expansion and generate necessary documents for new equipment (e.g., PM checklists, manuals, and spare part inventories). Approve outside contractors for specific maintenance and repair assignments (e.g., work request approvals). Supply instruction and mentorship to less experienced staff members and others, as necessary. Audit existing systems for non-conformance. Provide project management services for all construction work and approval after completion, such as hook-up, demolition, or relocation of power distribution equipment and other electrical equipment in the facility. Provide engineering consulting services, surveys, and recommendations to all departments and complete preliminary engineering to confirm plans and programs. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, statutes, and codes; secure all required permits; and coordinate with appropriate local authorities. Function as System Owner of the site's electrical operations and associated distribution system. Model the electrical power distribution system and track changes to ensure the system is balanced. Troubleshoot electrical system problems, conduct breaker coordination and arc flash studies, and track electrical load and ability analysis. Review the electrical design specifications, submittals, studies, and drawings. Additionally, assist in supporting the facility's document control system by incorporating the electrical as-built drawings into the master CAD drawings. Familiarity with the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) and building codes, including life safety-related ones, and the ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications. Ensure that all projects and systems follow applicable codes and standards, such as the NEC and those set by the International Society of Automation. Thorough understanding of power quality issues and resolutions (power factor, harmonics, phasing, etc.). Track, trend, and analyze electrical system usage utilizing SmartGear power monitoring software. Supply technical electrical engineering support for the 24-hour operations team. Influence supplier performance via management and audits of work performed in the field. Develop relationships and communicate with engineers across disciplines and other Panasonic sites to foster best practice sharing and communication. Added responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field. 8+ years of experience in operation/engineering of mission critical facilities and infrastructure (electrical design, installation, commissioning, inspection, fire/life safety systems). OR equivalent combination or education and experience.
