About the Role

The Sr. Financial Analyst – Controlling/FP&A is responsible for financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cost controllership for the Global R&D and GPLM (Global Product Line Management) organizations within the Professional Solutions Division of Harman International. This role will work closely with the finance Director, manager, and internal business partners to provide insight into the financial results for the two functions and PRO brands (ie, JBL, AKG, Crown).  This position requires proven success in a similar role, analytical thinking, ad-hoc analysis, and the ability to work in a global environment. This position is a hybrid role based in Northridge, CA.


What You Will Do

Own annual budget and monthly forecast modelsPerform month-end close activities including consolidations of financial results, and financial reporting related to R&D OPEX/CAPEX including variance analysis against budget and forecast.Ad-hoc analysis and new model builds to help support requests from corporate, business partners, or finance leaders for analysis and decision supportData and document retrieval and review from SAP and other financial systemsReview of purchase requests and invoices for expense control and proper financial codingInterpret and apply corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting theory.May on an as-needed basis support the broader finance team with sales analysis, new product business cases, and brand reporting

What You Need

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.3-5 years of finance and accounting experience in a complex environmentNon-linear thinker. Ability to drive analysis to its logical conclusion.Advanced ExcelExperience with financial projections, financial analysis, and accounting principlesComfortable with financial systems and preferably working knowledge of SAP, consolidation applications, and Business Intelligence reporting systems

What Makes You Eligible

This role is eligible to work remotely three days per week and two days in the Northridge, CA office as scheduled or requested (this could be on 24-hour notice).Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

Salary Ranges:

$ 82,500 - $ 121,000
