What We Need

 

The Sr Finance Analyst is a high performing contributor that works to support finance and analytics activities in support of the Purchasing department in the Flooring North America Segment of Mohawk Industries. This role involves analyzing financial data related to business unit activities, general accounting duties, month-end close tasks, moderate to complex G/L account reconciliations, periodic and ad-hoc financial reporting, and audit support.

 

 

What You’ll Do

 

Analyze procurement-related financial data, including negotiated material pricing and its impact on P&L. Assist in financial forecasting for materials and energy, including market movement analytics (inflation/deflation). Develop appropriate financial measures and benchmarks to monitor procurement performance. Partner with procurement and business unit finance partners to develop category strategies through a financial lens. Engage with procurement in initiatives around inventory and working capital management. Help procurement through competitive analysis and clean sheeting of key supply partners as necessary. Review, approval and financial risk identification around contract management. Partner and help procurement where necessary to access supplier health. Partner and help where necessary to evaluate ESG compliance and impact.

 

 

What You Have

 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with accounting and database systems including SAP, AS400, Excel, and PowerPoint. Reporting tool experience such as Business Objects, PowerBI, SSAS, SAC preferred CPA or CMA certification preferred.

 

 

What You’re Good At

 

Good oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills; ability to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment, and diplomacy when interacting with internal and external customers. Utilize Microsoft Office tools especially Excel for analyzing data to provide to management for decision making. Ability to research more complex accounting topics and draw relevant conclusions to present to management. Willingness to learn from, and work with, diverse teams across functional areas. Ability and willingness to accept responsibility, willingness to challenge established practices and draw relevant conclusions, including the persistence and willingness to take a calculated risk, to stimulate, market, and sell new ideas within the organization
