Job Overview: 

The Senior Financial Analyst is a pivotal role and key business partner responsible for Financial Planning & Analysis activities which communicate valuable insights and recommendations to support executive decision making. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the creation and execution of weekly and monthly financial reporting packages, budgeting, forecasting, and project based ad hoc reporting. Many of these processes are time sensitive, deadline driven, and deal with sensitive and confidential information. 

This position requires a high level of professionalism, effective communication, cross functional collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to understand complex financial processes. Experience with or willingness to learn various financial tools and technologies such as Workday Adaptive, Snowflake/SQL, PowerBI, Alteryx, JDA, and Microsoft 365 is desired. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, driven, reliable, trustworthy, and conscientious with a thorough understanding of financial procedures and analysis. The analyst’s areas of focus will include, but not be limited to, supporting senior leadership of the retail, commercial, service, and real estate divisions which support all of our 1000+ stores across 39 states. The analyst will work in collaboration with various levels of leadership to develop financial and strategic plans, analyze financial and operational results, and deliver meaningful insights to drive company performance. 

The position is based at Leslie’s corporate office in Phoenix, Arizona and offers the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. This hybrid model provides a valuable work-life balance with both in-person collaboration and remote productivity. 

Responsibilities: 

Financial Planning: Partner with FP&A leadership and key stakeholders to produce weekly,
monthly, annual and multi-year financial budgets and forecasts which drive results. P&L Review: Support monthly P&L review process that includes explaining variances to plan,
providing insight on current and expected trends, and identifying areas of risk and opportunities. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial cost/benefit, ROI and NPV analyses to support strategic initiatives. Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the macro environment, business issues, strategies, risks and opportunities. Professionally communicate, collaborate and partner with all levels of cross functional teams (Operations, Shared Services, Real Estate, Merchandising, Accounting, IT, etc.) to help develop strategies, build advanced forecasting/reporting capabilities, and drive insights for key leaders. Bring creative thinking and thoughtful approaches to the role, including analyzing and developing new metrics and performance indicators to help drive business results. Support the implementation of a new planning system and ensure FP&A needs and processes are identified, documented, and periodically tested. Provide ad-hoc analysis and lead reporting projects including decision support,
metrics and analytics.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline. A minimum of three (3) years of financial planning and analysis experience. Working knowledge of financial accounting and reporting concepts, public company and/or
experience in retail or other multi-unit industry preferred. Problem solving skills involving complex and ambiguous data sets and ability to synthesize information into a concise format for executives and other stakeholders. Financial modeling expertise; advanced competency in Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft Office suite products (e.g., Outlook, One Note, Word, PowerPoint). Experience using ERP and planning software and tools such as Microsoft D365, Workday Adaptive, Power BI, Tableau, etc. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Organized and extremely detail oriented. Holds self and others accountable for ensuring that results are achieved, seizes opportunities
to produce results without direct supervision, takes action on items beyond formal job
responsibility, sets high expectations for self and others. Ability to work independently, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent Ability to maintain composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines and Proven leadership and mentoring skills, self-starter and team player. Exhibits enthusiasm, positive professional attitude, integrity, reliability, and leadership.
