Description Our non-profit client in Oakland is seeking an interim Sr. Financial Analyst for a possible contract to hire opportunity. In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership and program managers to support financial planning, analysis, and reporting initiatives. This role is 100% remote and is expected to pay up to $60/hr. depending on experience and location. Responsibilities: • Facilitate the preparation of quarterly board reports and ensure the reconciliation of backup schedules with the Executive Summary Board schedules. • Support the Controller in the creation of annual budget, quarterly forecast, and monthly management reporting schedules. • Collaborate with Program leads throughout the planning process, ensuring accurate and correctly entered data in the financial planning Excel Master Tracker. • Process and analyze fiscal data related to grant projects, encompassing both revenue and expense aspects. • Develop a monthly reporting package that includes comprehensive financial statements, detailed key expense reporting, and other financial metrics along with executive level explanations of variances and trends. • Oversee the company’s cash flow model, ensuring it remains updated for a period of 18 months. • Generate monthly budget to actual comparison reports by department to aid in the forecasting process. • Recommend and implement enhancements to the business planning, finance, and reporting process. • Execute additional financial modeling and analyses as needed, making recommendations to improve the accuracy of program spending. • Apply GAAP Accounting and financial principles to monthly close results and Board of Trustees’ packages. • Review, analyze and post all Journal Entries transactions in General Ledger. • Review confidential financial records and prepare comprehensive reports by compiling data from outside and internal sources. • Support the Controller in handling external confidential accounting, banking, insurance, and payroll issues, and actively participate in the annual audit. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of finance • Proven expertise in Sage Intacct software • Solid understanding and experience in Non-profit Accounting • Demonstrated proficiency in Cash Flow Analysis • Experience in Variance Analysis is required • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting • Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting is a must • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of non-profit industry standards and regulations is preferred.
