Sr. FPGA Engineer (Remote Position)

Senior FPGA Engineer

Remote Position (candidates willing to attend on-site meetings 2-3 days per quarter preferred)

Salary range: $165,000 - $185,000

Supporting facilities: Stoneham, MA; Arlington, VA; Dayton, OH; Melbourne, FL

We are seeking a Senior FGPA Engineer to implement complex system algorithms and interfaces in FPGAs for Radar and EW systems. Applicable projects span all levels of maturity from initial concept generation through design, prototype, development, test, and transition to production. In this role, you will implement, test, and verify designs through simulation and lab test. These FPGA designs could include signal processing across very wide bands, high data rate interfaces, serial interfaces, and complex control logic. 

Additionally, you will support the effort to evaluate current and future system capabilities, identify improved applications and techniques, and ultimately recommend solutions. This position requires skills in working with multidisciplinary teams, supporting development and test activities, as well as technical proficiency in relevant technologies. Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills are also required. 

What you will do:

•\tMapping system-level requirements and objectives to FPGA specifications

•\tValidating designs with simulation and verification techniques before hardware integration

•\tParticipating in FPGA development process improvement

•\tSupporting full life cycle of development and integration of FPGA firmware into hardware systems

•\tCreating and maintaining design documentation and test plans

•\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and specifications to ensure seamless integration and interoperability. Support development of system architecture and implement the design to meet the architecture

•\tNear term tasking may be related to RF systems for airborne applications, but you may be tasked on other applications as needed

Who you are:

•\tExperience with FPGA and SoC design entry using Verilog or VHDL

•\tExperience with design flow for Xilinx and/or Intel FPGAs

•\tExperience with simulation tools such as ModelSim/Questa, VCS, or Incisive

•\tDemonstrated experience in delivery of advanced development hardware

•\tCapable of effectively working in a team environment, often under tight deadlines.

•\tExperience in preparing and delivering briefings, familiarity with the execution of technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMS)

•\tBackground should include a Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of applicable experience; Master’s degree and at least 4 years of applicable experience; or PhD. Equivalent experience will be considered

Nice to have:

•\tActive Secret or Top Secret security clearance

•\tUnderstanding of and experience with RF systems and their principles of design, development, requirements verification, test planning, test execution, and data analysis.

•\tDemonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: radar systems, electronic warfare, microwave engineering, analog and digital signal processing, embedded software development, physics modeling and simulation

•\tExperience with Matlab, Python, or C/C++

•\tExperience with interfacing to high speed DACs and ADCs

•\tExperience with Digital Signal Processing

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00
