Key responsibilities
Lead the engineering team through the application of ISO 26262 at all levels (system, sub-system, component) for Hardware and SoftwareAct as the main engineering customer interface for safety reviews and discussions – Provide evidence to OEM to support the safety case, as well as other required work productsDevelop the Technical Safety Concept based on identified Product Safety Requirements and Functional Safety Concept – specification of requirementsEnsure traceability of safety requirements and design throughout the product lifecyclePerform Functional Safety Analysis including FMEDA and FTADefine the safety architecture including ASIL decomposition, freedom from interference, dependent failures, required redundancies, and shutoff pathsCoach engineering teams to understand system safety concepts and implement these concepts in hardware and software designsProvide required engineering input for the Safety Plan, Safety Concept and Safety Case to the functional safety manager (FSM)Ensure the proper completion of verification reviews of safety work productsLead the appropriate safety analysis to ensure all product development safety activities are performed, using industry best practices and the ISO processSupport the creation of the system safety test specification by supporting validation engineers in defining safety test cases using the safety requirements and safety measures.What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Physics requiredMaster’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering preferredIn-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 requiredISO 26262 certification preferred5+ years’ experience in automotive system development (electrification preferred)3+ years’ experience in functional safety preferredExperience in applying functional safety to automotive drivetrain or propulsion systems is preferredOrganized and structured work style and attention to detail are requiredExperience with safety analysis tool required and Medini Analyze is preferredExperience with JIRA, Polarion, and Method Park Stages tools or equivalent is requiredExperience with an ASPICE based system development process requiredKnowledge or requirements and architecture engineering principlesStrong PC knowledge of Microsoft Office tools requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English language requiredWillingness to travel up to 10% is preferredInternal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement
