Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Government Accountant in the service industry, located in MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio. The selected candidate will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including project cost accounting, government invoicing, expense auditing, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Project Cost Accounting: Accurately allocate and track project expenses, ensuring detailed records comply with company policies and government guidelines.
Government Invoicing: Assist in preparing and submitting government invoices while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Expense Auditing: Review and audit travel expense reports and other project-related expenses to ensure adherence to company and government policies.
Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government contracting regulations and ensure all accounting activities align with relevant standards.
Support Activities: Assist with various accounting tasks as needed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the federal team.
Project Development: Collaborate with sales and estimating teams throughout the bid review and proposal submission process.
Incurred Cost Submissions: Prepare or assist in the preparation of Incurred Cost Proposals (ICPs) for submission to the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).
Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements that accurately reflect project costs while ensuring compliance with GAAP and government accounting standards.
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
+ Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience in federal government cost accounting.
+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Auditing Standards (CGAP) certification preferred.
+ Deep understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
+ Experience with government construction or service contracts preferred.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and data analysis tools.
