Job Overview CGS Sr. Health Safety and Environmental Specialist provides technical and administrative support to the CGS Environmental Health & Safety department in performing data analysis, information systems management, recordkeeping compliance, incident investigation, site assessment, corporate policy compliance and internal customer service. Work Model: Hybrid Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Assists the CGS Environmental Health & Safety department in managing all safety, health, and environmental-related programs. Maintains the company’s Safety information management system, including incidents, training, employee observations, JSAs, & inspections Provides data entry assistance related to compliance recordkeeping and reporting for OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other agencies. Assists with annual OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other agency regulatory requirements. Provides data in tabulated and graphical formats so support safety program analysis. Conducts inspections, testing and evaluation of workplace environments, equipment, and practices, to ensure safe work procedures are followed and safe work conditions are maintained. Ensures accuracy and fidelity between incident reporting systems for safety and risk and provides reports to the CGS Environmental Health & Safety Reviews incident reports and incident investigation documentation for accuracy and completeness Assists in the distribution of leading and lagging indicator data to stakeholders, departments, and CGS sites enterprise wide. Provides mandatory posting notices, safe work performance metrics and benchmark comparisons. Assists and collaborates in operationalizing Corporate safety policy on the site level. Assist in technical writing for audits, investigations, and site assessments. Assists in maintaining administrative functions of all agency compliance programs. Performs other related work as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Five (5) years’ experience in occupational safety & health, or environmental position. Current Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Technician certification. I.e., CHST or OHST or equivalent. Experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis to develop corrective and preventive actions. Proficiency with safety data management software (e.g., EHS software platforms). Current state driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record. In-depth knowledge and experience with environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and best practices. Must be able to obtain a DoD base access visitor pass. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong typing and data entry skills.
