You will be the key HSE resource at a site directing sustainable health and safety programs through incorporation of impactful operating processes and keeping in front of leading practices in health and safety standards. 

\n\n\n\tDevelop, integrate, monitor, and support site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with the applicable guidelines, procedures, and regulations.\n\tIncorporate continuous improvement in the deployment of the HSE Management System.\n\tEnsure proactive integration of HSE in business processes and promote employee engagement and participation in the HSE management system.\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities

\n\n\n\tMaintains regulatory and company standards compliance with site air and water permits and regulations, underground storage tank regulations, Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) plan, RCRA hazardous waste regulations, and EPCRA Hazardous Material Reporting, among others.\n\tActs as the professional resource for site safety, responsible for the deployment of key safety programs including, but not limited to electrical safety, chemical safety, personal protective equipment, machine guarding and respiratory protection.\n\tImplements processes to monitor, track, and ensure compliance with governmental regulations and the HSE requirements of the Corporation.\n\tEvaluate, develop and effectively implement new HSE work processes or procedures.\n\tServes as liaison with regulatory agencies.\n\tOversees the activities of third party consultants.\n\tServes as the lead for all data collection and review for Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), parametric monitoring, and equipment fuel usage.\n\tProvides timely and accurate submission of necessary reports to Corporate, Federal, State, and Local agencies.\n\tKeeps informed of existing and proposed HSE regulations and interprets regulations for business partners.\n\tConducts audits and inspections and identifies actions necessary to prevent injuries and control significant exposures.\n\tPerform incident investigations and root cause analyses.\n\tLeads efforts to improve safety and environmental performance using the company HSE Management System and company tools including the Management System Tool (Intelex), the Digital Risk Assessment Tool, among others. \n\tCoordinates site specific HSE training for employees.\n\tOversees the program for subcontractor safety management.\n\tEngages with broader regional HSE team to share ownership of the regional HSE management system.\n\tServes as Americas Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assigned programs.\n\n\n

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

\n\n

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

\n\n\n

YOU MUST HAVE

\n\n\n\tMinimum of five (5) years experience in HSE, which includes managing elements of a site safety program and maintaining  environmental permit compliance.\n\tSelf-motivated with strong initiative and bias for action.\n\tUncompromising drive for compliance and willingness to escalate issues as needed.\n\tDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills and have the ability to interface with and influence all levels of plant personnel.\n\tStrong computer skills and working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook in a business environment.\n\n\n

\n\n\n\tBachelors degree in environmental sciences, engineering, safety, chemistry or an applied science field, or demonstrated equivalentExperience with Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) a plus.\n\tWill be highly motivated and energetic with good analytical and problem-solving skills\n\tAbility to lead, work independently, motivate, and influence others at all levels of the organization\n\tClose attention to detail\n\tAbility to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once\n\n\n
