What you will be doing

We are looking for a Senior Human Resource Generalist to support the day-to-day operations of the Ventura, CA location, reporting to the Pemko Human Resources Manager in Memphis. 

This full-time Sr HR Generalist role will be responsible for full-cycle HR activities at the plant-level, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, FMLA/CA PFL & PSL, coaching, corrective actions, training, benefits administration, and consolidating payroll in partnership with Corporate Payroll. Currently, there are approximately 100 employees at this non-unionized location.

In addition to the above, a demonstrated strong foundation in California labor and payroll laws is a must have for this role as you will be responsible for ensuring compliance to all applicable California regulations.

As the Sr. Human Resource Generalist, you will display your excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across the business and influence desired results. A self-starter with the ability to work independently, you will embrace a fast-paced work environment to meet challenging assignments while delivering superior support to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Support the Pemko ASSA ABLOY Human Resources Manager in implementing HR policies, programs, and other HR functions. Perform audit and compliance functions as requested on items such as audit reports verification, and payroll information. Responsible for the new hire onboarding process, ensures all new hire documents are completed and in compliance with USCIS I-9 form. Work with ADP technical analysts on reports, tax information and general payroll items; prepare year-end benefits and salary reconciliation reports Ensure legal compliance related to Department of Labor requirements. Assist in recruitment efforts and talent acquisition initiatives. Maintain employee personnel files in conjunction with Federal/State law and take ownership of timely filing of employee paperwork. Monthly headcount and HR reporting. Maintain and administer benefit programs, including group health, 401K, disability, life insurance and workmen’s compensation. Work with external 3rd party providers to manage benefit enrollments and changes while driving employee Self Service model. Respond to employees with questions on benefits and HR items. Provide support to both employees and HR team in benefits and HR administration. Administers FMLA/CA PFL and CA PSL, and STD leave requests. Create queries, standard reports, and ad hoc reports to provide data for a variety of internal reporting requirements and HR projects and activities. Maintains records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Ad-hoc and special projects as needed. Other duties as assigned. 

What we are looking for

BS Degree with 5+ years of Human Resources experience.

Good working knowledge of benefit/retirement programs, workers compensation, recruitment, and HR administration. Must have current expert-level foundation in all California Labor and Pay regulations Experience with SAP Success Factors and ADP Payroll is a plus or other related HRIS systems. Demonstrating the highest level of Integrity and strong Business Ethics at all times Strong coaching skills in providing sound counsel and HR expertise across all levels of the organization High degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Exceptional people skills and be able to interact with employees at all levels, as well as vendors and suppliers. Very detail focused and ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently. Self-starter and results oriented; ability to operate independently Experience reporting to a remote manager is a plus Strong computer literacy, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible, service-oriented and have a strong sense of urgency. Manufacturing experience desired.
