The Senior Product Manager - Tech for AWS Data Center Power Generation Infrastructure owns the successful delivery of the newest generations of data center energy innovations, and electrical power generation infrastructure technologies from concept to at-scale global implementation.

This role provides a unique opportunity to engage with advanced infrastructure solutions for HV/MV substations and the exceptional people that develop them.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for delivering large-scale critical HV/ MV projects in partnership with our commercial energy and procurement teams globally under tight deadlines. Understanding of product development tied to HV/MV breakers, switchgear, transformers, circuit switching equipment, and associated controls is necessary to be successful in this role. Further, constructability and operation of HV/MV projects and how they inform product feature prirotization and standardization is critical to this role.

The ideal candidate for this role will understand the technical nature of HV /MV infrastructure projects including substations, understand national electric code, design of cables and overhead lines, with a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in delivering HV & MV infrastructure projects/programs from design to energization, and subsequent operation. You are naturally customer centric and thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires strong technical and business judgment and solid communication skills.

The candidate will have detailed understanding of critical LV, MV and HV electrical equipment and of relays, protections schemes, high-voltage circuit breakers, power and distribution transformers electrical switchgear, grounding and earthing and have basic programming (HTML, Python) skills to build reports, roadmaps, program wikis, and mechanisms for effective product/ program delivery.

The candidate will need to possess strong communication skills, and ability to deliver with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental and real estate teams, to ensure delivery to tight timelines. Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks & issues at senior management, director and vice president level will be the candidate’s responsibility. We are looking for a senior product manager who will own and drive product management across a range of electrical products across high voltage and medium voltage value chain. You will be responsible for full lifecycle product management of solutions that inform our facility design and have an outsized impact on accelerating digital transformation across several customer workloads including AI/ML, generative AI, databases, Big Data analytics, SAP, HPC, Edge, and more.

The candidate will have strong ownership over portfolio strategy, product definition, feature prioritization, messaging aligned to our customer needs. This is a high visibility and high impact role that will interact with all levels of AWS leadership.

Amazon has a global presence; therefore 25% travel will be necessary. International support will be part of the job, and some international travel will be necessary. Support could consist of working on international teams and could require developing engineering deliverables and design document packages. An understanding of international electrical design requirements is preferable.
