As a Sr. Instrument and Control Specialist, you will be responsible for consistently monitoring and maintenance of the Control systems to ensure continued reliable operation.

What You’ll Do

As a Sr. Instrument and Control Specialist, you will be responsible for consistently monitoring and maintenance of the Control systems to ensure continued reliable operation. Other duties include:

System hardware - firmware updates, lifestyle and legacy plansFollow appropriate steps to the Management Of Change programOrganization and retention of documentation and recordsMaintaining configuration object librariesImplementing changes to align with process plant equipment modifications and upgrades and to accommodate process improvement initiativesOverrides and Bridges. Maintain Control Defeats Register and DCS Change LogsDraft control strategy documented by some means such as a SAMA diagram and or logic block diagrams.Development of control loop functional specification.Draft control strategy documented by some means such as a SAMA diagram and or logic block diagrams.Willingness to work overtime and be on call as required.Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5’s, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.Supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility.

 

What We’re Looking For:

B.S. Degree in Engineering (four-year college or university), preferably in Chemical or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of related experience.In lieu of degree, 10 years minimum in Automation Systems experience.Experience in Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84/IEC 61511)Experience in Control Systems or Process Control role. Experience with HMI configuration. Experience with DCS/PLC configuration.(preferred DeltaV or Rockwell Automation Controllogix)Experience with Databases (SQL Server and MS Access) and Networking.
