General Purpose Manage the development and implementation of Information Technology projects by providing direction to a team responsible for project development including design, analysis, feasibility studies, budget, and schedule. Establishes project milestones, negotiates timelines/schedules, develops project plans, and communicates timely and relevant information.Responsibilities Lead the IT project team to meet identified project success criteria. Manage project phases, and/or entire projects, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting and monitoring. Successfully deliver multiple and simultaneous software/infrastructure projects and act as the single point of contact. Define project scope and objectives. Evaluate and define appropriate ownership responsibilities for projects. Act as an expert project consultant and provide strategic advice and consultation for the design and implementation of effective IT business processes across the Company. Interface with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services. Manage project budget and ensure proper documentation and controls are in force and effective. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Manage the integration of vendor tasks, review vendor deliverables and work to mitigate potential risk to the company. Provide effective management and oversee the management of large ($10 million+), complex IT projects. Proactively understand stakeholders’ priorities, requirements, and operational impacts. Proactively manage expectations and actively lead the team towards the successful completion of deliverables within identified business parameters.Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of seven years of related experience resulting in demonstrated skills in project management. Analytical and evaluation skills to define critical tasks, establish a logical sequence of events, identify individuals/teams, timelines and outcomes, and to produce project plans. Anticipate and resolve obstacles before they adversely impact schedule, scope, or budget. Project management skills to develop and monitor work agreements and budgets, determine specifications, schedules, timelines, and define deliverables. Interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate team efforts, provide guidance and direction to team members, and communicate project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes. Financial modeling to quantify costs and benefits of projects and to track and maintain project budgets. Expertise in project management techniques, the Company’s business, applicable policies, procedures, and practices, and federal, state, and local laws. Expertise in the use of technical applications, software (such as Microsoft Project), and other relevant tools.
Preferences
PMP or other professional project management certification.
