Sr. IT Support - Desktop Engineer
Overview We are seeking a skilled IT Desktop Engineer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Intune, application packaging, and endpoint management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise-wide desktop environments while ensuring security, compliance, and performance. This is a remote opportunity. Schedule (days/hours) Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Responsibilities Device Management & Deployment: Manage and administer Microsoft Intune for device provisioning, compliance, and security policies. Configure and deploy Windows 10/11 and macOS devices using Autopilot and Endpoint Manager. Monitor and optimize MDM (Mobile Device Management) and MAM (Mobile Application Management) policies. Application Packaging & Deployment: Package, test, and deploy Windows applications (MSI, App-V, Win32, IntuneWin) using SCCM, Intune, or third-party tools. Maintain an enterprise-wide application repository, ensuring patch management and software updates. Troubleshoot application deployment failures and optimize delivery methods. Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Level 2/3 support for end-users, addressing hardware, OS, and application-related issues. Troubleshoot issues related to Intune configurations, group policies, and endpoint security. Collaborate with the security and networking teams to ensure endpoint compliance and threat mitigation. Endpoint Security & Compliance: Implement BitLocker encryption, Defender for Endpoint, and compliance policies for data security. Ensure adherence to ITIL, cybersecurity best practices, and compliance frameworks. Perform regular system health checks, monitoring logs, and analyzing incidents. Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. Conduct training sessions for IT support staff and end-users on device and application best practices. Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in an IT Desktop Engineer or related role. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and Endpoint Manager. Expertise in application packaging (MSI, App-V, Win32, IntuneWin, PowerShell scripting). Knowledge of Windows 10/11, macOS, and mobile device management (iOS/Android). Familiarity with Group Policy, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Conditional Access policies. Experience with SCCM (Configuration Manager), PowerShell scripting, and automation. Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, software, network connectivity, and OS issues. Understanding of IT security principles, endpoint protection, and compliance policies. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or Windows 365. Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel, or other EDR solutions. Familiarity with Citrix, VMware Horizon, or other VDI solutions. IT certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-100, MD-101), Intune Administrator, or ITIL Foundation.
