The anticipated salary range for this role is between $190,000.00 and $227,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees. **Role Description** JRIA is seeking a Senior Java Developer providing development support for the bank's enterprise-wide payment applications. Applying expertise to design, develop and support packaged and custom payment processing programs. **Role Objectives** 10+ years of relevant experience in financial services industry. Performs analysis and design of the business requirements and specifications and performs technical analyses to prepare a technical specification document. Collaborates with project team members to define and design scope for each project. Participates in build related activity discussions including environment setup, implementation schedules and changes promoted in the test environments. Analyzes technical issues and suggests workarounds or provides long-term permanent solutions. Assists in implementation of system upgrades, enhancements and the introduction of new systems within a fully auditable environment. Identifies system bottlenecks and conducts performance tuning and testing of applications. Supports and implements vendor applications working closely with vendors on the technical team Designs, codes and unit tests in real-time, batch interfaces and file transfer process. Develops web-based product projects, and for middleware interface development using the latest technologies and environments. **Qualifications and Skills** Demonstrated experience developing scalable enterprise level Java/J2EE web applications, preferably on Websphere Application Server. Experience undertaking software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, and software review. Proficiency in SQL, and stored procedures; Oracle experience preferred. Functional knowledge of frameworks such as JPA, Hibernate, Spring, RESTful Web Services. Experience in developing on container frameworks such as Kubernetes or Open Shift. Ability to write Shell scripts. Demonstrated experience installing, configuring and maintaining GIS environments, networks and clusters. Ability to write efficient complex queries against very large data sets using SQL Developer and TOAD, and knowledge of related technology. Functional and operational knowledge of CHIPS, FEDWIRE, SWIFT, SEPA, CHIPS, ACH and/or CLS. Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts, and work with business users, IT partners and vendors.
