Responsibilities:\n\nWorks within an agile (Scrum) team to advance the state of the application.\nMust have excellent customer communication skills.\nInterface with customer to determine and document application requirements.\nCoordinates with other functional members of the project team, i.e. infrastructure, database administrations security, and configuration management.\nPerform specialized programming duties including conceptual system design, specifications development, including writing interfaces to Database Management Systems (DBMS).\nTranslates detailed design into computer software.\nTests, debugs, and refines the computer software to produce the required product.\nEnsures that software design promotes modularity and portability and is reliable, serviceable, and maintainable, has demonstrable accuracy, privacy and security, and is sufficient within the parameters of the system.\nPrepares required system and data requirements documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation; system test, implementation, and configuration management plans and system demonstrations.\nDesign and develop Intranet-based interactive applications. \n\n\n\n\n\n

Qualifications \n\n\n\n

Number of Years Experience Required:\n\n10+ year's experience in the Information Technology industry.\n10+ year's experience as an application developer.\n10+ year's experience in Java-based Object-Oriented Development (OOD).\n\n
\n

Minimum Education and Certifications Required:\n\nBachelors' Degree in related field - Computer Science, Engineering, or Math is preferred.\n\n
\n

Technical Skills Required:\n\nHands-on Experience with most of the following technologies and frameworks are a must: Hibernate\/JPA, PostgreSQL, Maven, JSON, XML, CDI, other open source tools and frameworks. Quarkus is a plus.\nKnowledge of Linux\/UNIX environment is a must.\nKnowledge and experience developing web front ends, including with Angular, JavaScript, JQuery, and BootStrap. Internationalization experience is a plus.\nKnowledge and experience in developing web services, particularly RESTFul.\nKnowledge and experience with cloud computing platforms, including EC2 or Azure\nKnowledge and experience with containerization, including Docker or Kubernetes is a plus\nKnowledge and experience with Kafka is a plus\nStrong math skills a plus.\nExperience in GIS\/Spacial environment is a plus. \n\n

Computer Skills:\n\nWorking knowledge of Geographical System (GIS) software a plus: Geotools, PostGIS and\/or Oracle spatial preferred.\nExperience with web-enabling technologies to enhance input to an output from geigraphical displays is a plus.\nShell scripting\n\n
\n

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:\n\nU.S. Citizen or person with valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for 3 or more years. \nDemonstrated ability to communicate and interface with the customer and interpret requirements.\nAbility to communicate requirements.\nA team player but can work independently too.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nMulti-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear and use a computer\/keyboard\/mouse for several hours on a daily basis. \nMay require occasional light lifting of up to 10 pounds.\n\n
