Senior Linux Lead

This position requires a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of systems controlling software over the life of the project. Identify, Report, and Correct system issues. Provide high level of system based knowledge to leadership, peers, and client representatives. Manage the Linux system administration support to the IEP. This resource will support the Virtual Infrastructure, Middleware, and Security teams OS support, configuration, and security hardening. Manage the support of Accenture middleware team with IRS application deployments into the IEP
Required Technical Skills:
• Must be proficient in Linux operating systems and Linux Kernel configurations.
• Deep understanding of domain controllers’ set-up and configuration.
• Working knowledge of Linux user authentication and network access rights.
• Ability to write and maintain custom Linux/Unix shell scripts.
• Understanding of what a real-time virtual network environment is.
Preferred Technical Skills:
• Knowledge and experience in using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) versions 2 and 3.
• Understanding of logical AD network divisions; ability to properly arrange resource objects.
• Familiarity with Web Server and Application Server configurations.
• Experience working with VMware, vCenter, and vSphere.
• Utilization of defect/service tracking software for project metrics.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the installation and maintenance of systems controlling software over the life of the project.
• Identify, report, and correct system issues.
• Provide high level system based knowledge to leadership, peers, and client representatives.
• Configure an Active Directory to provide a central location for network administration and security.
• Utilize DNS to configure the AD hierarchical structure.
• Manage the support of Accenture Linux OS team with IRS application deployments into the IEP.
• Lead the effort to analyze, understand, fix, and maintain Linux OS security vulnerabilities through policy driven network standardization.
• Participate in the “On-Call Process” during after business hour situations and/or emergency situations during business hours that require immediate attention.
• Provide cyclic OS Level patches and scheduled maintenance on variety of virtual machines that may require working outside core business hours.
• Communicate status to supervisor regarding any issues or schedule concerns.
• Manage and escalate as necessary key decisions, issues, and risks.
• Collaborate with technical architecture and testing leads on solution issues.
• Work with COTs vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
• Comply with the IEP - Operation & Maintenance Networking Standards and Security Standards.
