Sr. Maintenance Mechanic

Repairs equipment such as pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, part pick and place, pumps, compressors, and other electro-mechanical production machines. Performs work as an advanced maintenance technician. Provides guidance and leadership to other team members to perform routine and specialized maintenance and repairs. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance. + Observes, operates and listens to mechanical equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to remove and replace defective parts. Examines shape, form, and wear of parts to detect imperfections and problems. + Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels and straight edges. + Repairs and replaces defective parts by removing and installing equipment components. Lubricates and cleans parts, start devices to test for performance. + **A plus –** able to set up and operate basic tool room equipment. Lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to repair or adjust parts. + **A plus –** Able to organize, plan and prioritize work for others. + Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. Identifies events and records differences for physical maintenance scheduling. + Drafts layouts and specifies technical devices, parts and equipment. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. **Mathematical Skills** Ability to identify and explain the use of special measuring devices; Use table weights and measurements; ability to use formulas to solve basic problems, including volume, circumference, right triangles using Pythagorean theorem. **Reasoning Ability** Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
