Job Description

McDonald’s is on an exciting journey to transform our Enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI (EDAA) function and turn our data into a winning advantage for the system. We are seeking a Communications Lead who will be responsible for overseeing all EDAA program communications that will create compelling narratives that inspire teams within and outside the EDAA function. This individual will work cross-functionally to craft the transformation story, develop the communication strategy, develop executive level communications, and distill complex concepts into clear and concise messages. In addition, they will define communication stakeholders and personas, tailoring messages to each group.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a communication strategy aligned with EDAA program objectives including key messages and channels to drive understanding and engagementBuild narratives to tell the transformation story to various personas at various stages throughout the transformation programTailor key communications and messages to different audiences across McDonald’s markets and functionsDistill complex data, analytics, and AI topics into simple key messages that can be digested by various collaboratorsWork alongside leadership to develop an internal communications plan to provide visibility to the affected areas of the businessCollaborate on executive communications to McDonald’s senior leaders to overview transformation goals, progress, and outcomesDevelop narratives that influence teams and garner support for key initiativesDevelop clear and concise documentation by leveraging industry standards and guidelines and McDonald’s best practices and existing narrativesAssesses communications activities and their effectiveness to find opportunities for enhancementProvide regular reporting on the status of various communications activitiesAct as primary editor for all EDAA Modernization communicationsEnsures alignment of EDAA communication strategies and plans with Corporate Communications strategies, initiatives, and standards

QualificationsExtensive Communications experienceExperienced knowledge of communication practices and techniquesExecutive presentation skills; able to communicate complex ideas clearly and conciselyStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to storyboard and express ideas clearly and concisely using a mix of data and qualitative insightsExceptional PowerPoint skillsAbility to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audienceExposure to cross functional programs and ability to work successfully in a matrixed environmentAbility to develop / maintain strong business relationshipsAbility to multitask and work well under pressureAttention on details and clear, concise communicationsProven ability to think strategically and to translate strategic directives into communicationsPrior experience working in a data, analytics, or digital focused teams, a general understanding of Data and AI activities, and prior experience working within transformation projects is preferred

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field

Education Preferred

Master’s degree in Communications or related field preferred

Experience Required

Eight years minimum experience in communications required
