KBR is seeking a self-driven finance professional to take on a leadership role within a high-performing, fast paced Business Unit.  The finance team is built around a strategy that prioritizes business partnership to support the company in advancing its strategic objectives.

This position will be based in Houston and report directly to the Business Unit CFO.  The Senior Manager will lead a large multi-site finance team that collaborates across functions including commercial management, project management, project controls, procurement, and legal.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager – Finance & Accounting will be responsible for:

developing, coaching, and leading a highly engaged, knowledgeable multi-site finance team that performs all facets of project accounting.collaborating with the Regional Controller to install and maintain sound technical accounting practices, including:proactive identification, evaluation, escalation, and conclusion/documentation of complex and/or judgmental areas in compliance with US GAAP.collaborating with the Regional Controller to foster a strong, disciplined SOX-compliant environment while streamlining processes to deliver timely, accurate, reliable, and actionable intelligence to key decision-makers.leading the team by engaging in employee development, training, and succession planning.identifying opportunities and spearhead initiatives to streamline employee workload, including through automation.proactively tracking, managing, and reporting key issues from identification to resolution.“owning the numbers” by being able to speak to variances and trends across the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and backlog.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.10+ years of experience in corporate finance with 2+ years in a management role.Project accounting experience.Experience in managing and leading a team in a multi-site organization.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Flourishes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.Willingness to travel up to 20% to locations outside of the US.Ability to design and maintain effective, simple, repeatable, and dependable business processes.Ability to work closely with BU and functional leadership teams to promote strong business performance and achieve business goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge and understanding of planning and ERP systems and data.Experience with SAP and Microsoft Dynamics a plusAccounting Certification (CPA, CA, or equivalent).Public accounting experience.
