**Position Overview**
The Sr Manager, Tax Planning & Operations (Americas) reports to the Director, Global Tax Planning & Operations Technology and is responsible overall tax matters in the Americas region, with the U.S. as the single largest jurisdiction. We are a highly collaborative organization and seek a candidate with experience in a global organization. **What You’ll do**
This role is responsible for the overall management of the U.S. corporate tax issues related to global tax planning. This role requires specific experience in tax laws, regulations, are relevant guidance of the United States; however, general awareness of key tax concepts for additional countries is expected for successful identification of key tax issues to be addressed due to business changes and global tax planning. This role will leverage members of the global tax team and local third-party tax advisors (as needed) for the technical tax rules of the relevant country. The Company operating structure is decentralized with several finance organization and effective collaboration across matrixed organization (corporate finance, global trade, global tax, and local finance) is a key to success. Your role includes the following:
+ **Global Tax Planning / M&A Activity:** As the principal point of contact for US tax considerations related to business transactions and tax planning, this role will need to leverage expertise from throughout the global tax organization and external third-party advisors (as needed). This requires the ability to ensure collaborative input and guidance from subject matter experts covering many elements of US taxes (e.g., tax accounting, US international taxes, pillar 2, state, transfer pricing, sales/use, customs/duties, etc.).
+ **US International Taxation:** This role must have a working knowledge of US International taxation rules and regulations covering topics such as E&P, PTEP, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, CAMT, FTC, Pillar II, Section 197, Sections 987/988 (FX Gain/Loss), and US tax Basis. This knowledge must include the ability to prepare / review detailed computations and anticipate the impact to those computations from changes to the overall business or changes to cross-border tax rules.
+ **Technical Resource:** This role is expected to have demonstrated experience in global tax planning, cross-border analysis, and statutory requirements of the United States. For all other countries, using a network of advisors, the role must monitor proposed and newly enacted legislation, regulations, rulings, and court cases which may impact to the global tax position of the Company.
+ **Income Tax SEC Reporting:** This role is expected to facilitate inputs on the impact business changes and global tax planning may have on the overall cash tax, balance sheet, or net earnings of the Company. Collaboration with the global tax accounting team will require the ability to clearly communicate facts and non-US income tax impact(s) to properly identify the impact to the overall financial statements of the Company.
+ **Business Advisor:** Develop a strong understanding of the operating companies; develop relationships with key contacts and stakeholders (internal/external) to ensure a coordinated approach for impacts driven by changes to tax law or the business.
+ **Organizational Collaboration:** Develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the corporate organization, including those responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, and internal audit.

**Qualifications & Certifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in taxation, accounting, finance or related field
+ Master’s in taxation or JD with LL.M. in taxation, preferred
+ CPA certification, preferred
+ 8+ years of progressive corporate or public accounting experience in income tax, including progressive experience for multi-national corporations.
**Skills & Competencies**
+ Experience with tax software (e.g., CorpTax) and data-efficiency tools (e.g., Power BI Platform, Alteryx).
+ Demonstrated expertise in relevant tax law, regulations, and legal rulings related to US International taxation.
+ Demonstrated ability to translate complex income tax concepts / requirements into tax planning with actionable strategies.
+ Demonstrated ability to articulate facts and conclusions at a high level in addition to a willingness to explore statutory guidance to fully consider potential tax outcomes.
+ Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
+ Strong communication skills with ability to interact with effectively with external advisors and finance teams throughout the organization.
+ Highly-skilled user of MSFT Office Suite
+ Demonstrated mentoring or development of others
+ Results-oriented, technically-curious, and values effective collaboration.
+ Positive self-started with willingness to learn, understand the business, and readily adapt to a fast-changing business.
