Sr. Manager, Logistics and Customs Compliance

Senior Manager, Logistics and Customs Compliance, is responsible for all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics and global customs compliance. This role is responsible for routing and scheduling deliveries and developing and maintaining playbooks/SOPs for these activities.
They will be responsible for leading end-to-end export processes including EXW/DDP parcel, LCL and last mile LTL shipments to EMEA, LATAM and APAC ensuring customs, regulatory and customer routing compliance. They will also lead internal continuous improvement processes related to customs/trade compliance, VAT recovery, duty drawbacks and US/international customs management.
Essential Job Functions
+ Create policies and procedures for logistics activities.
+ Manage all shipping transactions across local, domestic and international locations.
+ Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, and frequency.
+ Ensure orders are shipped on-time and fulfilled within the customers guidelines.
+ Track and analyze mis-shipments and prepare charge back reporting for accounting department.
+ Maintain familiarity with compliance manuals and EDI requirements for all major stores.
+ Manage and maintain shipment trackers and communicate weekly shipping status to sales and order management teams.
+ Collaborate with team, internal business partners and external carrier associates on all international consolidation to ensure freight release and timely delivery.
+ Work with suppliers, freight forwarder and customs broker to ensure the timely submission of import and export documents.
+ Perform daily audits and adhere to record keeping requirements for all international transactions.
+ Work with tariff classifications and maintain and update HTS product code databases.
+ Act as subject matter export for all customs compliance for all inbound/outbound international shipments including customs valuation, EAR, EORI management, hazmat compliance, free trade agreements (if applicable), broker management, tariff classification, security, not-for-resale goods, etc.
+ Support finance department in preparing and filing monthly tax returns for export shipments.
+ Proactively identify and execute performance improvement and cost savings projects.
+ Develop and maintain business metrics and reports.
+ Negotiate carrier contracts by analyzing inbound and outbound lanes.
+ Maintain relationships and periodic business reviews with all vendors, including timely update and renewal of agreements, contracts and POAs.
+ Lead duty drawback program, including timely data gathering, analysis and submission.
+ Act as logistics subject matter expert for WMS and various system related enhancements.
+ Lead and mentor logistics team of analysts, coordinators and/or supervisors.
+ Participate in meetings with and maintain strong relationships with our sales teams as well as key accounts.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in related field.
+ 2+ years supervisory experience.
+ 7+ years logistics and customs compliance experience in a related field.
+ 5+ years of international import/export experience with emphasis on APAC, EU and the UK.
+ Experience in domestic transportation/tendering loads.
+ Expert understanding of logistics documentation (bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing lists, etc) especially as they relate to international logistics.
+ Strong understanding of INCO terms (DAP, DAP, EXW, etc).
+ Understand of end-to-end supply chain operations (demand planning, customer operations, order to cash, etc.
+ Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Office Applications.
+ Inter-personal, written, and verbal communication skills to interact with people at all levels of the organization
+ Self-directed individual with the ability to drive results as well as take balanced risks and make decisions
+ Ability to identify opportunities to improve and implement processes
+ Ability to offer opinions and support senior management and business leade.rs (internal).
+ Customs brokerage license or similar certification.
+ Consumer goods experience, particularly cosmetics, food and/or drug.
+ Experience selling/shipping to key customers such Sephora, Ulta, Macy's, Douglas, etc.
+ This role is onsite Monday-Friday in Pico Rivera
Physical demands
+ Continuous sitting and operating a computer, occasional standing, walking, and lifting 25 lbs.
Anastasia Beverly Hills offers a competitive compensation package with full benefits and a 401(K) plan with matching contributions from the company. The starting base salary range for this position in the selected city is $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 yearly. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographical location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role is bonus eligible.
