The Senior Manager, Market Research will use experience in market research, data analytics, strategy development, and communication to provide industry, market, product, and competitive insights to the Marvin organization that will aid in strategic decision making. 

                                                      

This position will partner with functional leaders to determine critical business needs and lead insights gathering/developing initiatives to influence new ways of thinking for key stakeholders in all geographies and levels of the organization. The Senior Manager, Market Research will lead a team and continue to build out the competency for market research and insights. The successful candidate will bring a consultative mindset that champions the role of insights in decision-making, can partner across functions to define insights needs and is comfortable engaging at multiple levels of the organization to build an impactful market insights function.  This person will be an engaged leader of multiple direct reports taking accountability for managing both their contributions to the business and their career development.

 

This position is challenged to come up with new and creative solutions to meet the most difficult or foundational research needs of the business. The role requires the ability to select the appropriate research methodology and techniques and handle all stages of the project from proposal to presentation. 

Highlights of your role Proactively collaborate with key stakeholders across marketing, product management, sales and customer experience teams, to assess business issues that through research and analytics, result in insights on the most strategic path forward. Strong business acumen and ability to develop industry frameworks, competitive assessments, and market trends using primary and secondary research tools to make a comprehensive and data driven recommendation.Develop scope and define the business questions of a project up front to ensure the appropriate data is identified and prioritized for the objective. Provide industry metrics, analytics, and insights to drive visibility to past and future performance expectations. In addition, communicate key industry and competitive behaviors with insights on how it will impact Marvin.Recommend, design and execute complex multi-faceted research studies using the appropriate data and structure to discover insights needed to meet the project’s objective. Utilize primary and secondary research, competitive insights, and industry trends to round out insights and recommendations.Engage 3rd party vendors to conduct research; negotiating and managing related contracts.Provide senior leadership-facing analytics, insights, and recommendations to shed light on performance and drive business decisionsHire and manage employees; provide coaching, mentoring, and demonstrate leadership to develop the team and create a high-performing, highly-engaged function.Perform other duties as assigned. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) Experienced developing strategic research project plans that are efficient and effective Ability to influence and collaborate with functional leaders and work across all levels of an organization; supported by a strong business acumenAn executive presence with polished and well-developed facilitation, written and oral communication skills, demonstrating creativity and technical expertiseAssertive and confident with a strong point of view while able to understand/empathize and support other perspectives. Intent on building trusting and collaborative partnerships/relationshipsAbility to turn data into insights and recommendations that are appropriate for different audiences and business lines (e.g. senior leaders, managers, all employees)Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research applications, design thinking experience a plusAbility to build trusted relationships effectively to influence and build credibility with executive leadership Advanced working knowledge of market research statistical techniquesHigh level of comfort in working with large amounts of dataStrong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities Able to work as part of a team, focused on building a “great place to work” culture and continuously upholding the purpose and values of MarvinA curious, learning mindset Also want to make sure you have 15+ years of work experience in market research, strategy development, or business intelligence5+ years managing employees and leading a teamBachelor’s degree or MBA in marketing, research, strategy, or related fieldExperience working within a marketing, research, or strategy function at a manufacturing, CPG, or primary research provider; building products industry experience a plus Proficient with SPSS/SAS, Salesforce, Power BI and Microsoft Office suite We invite you to See Yourself at Marvin
