Job Description Summary

The Sr. Net-Zero Program Manager is responsible for developing and implementing science-based target programs to help our client achieve their ambitious net-zero goals and targets. To seamlessly deliver the client’s Net-Zero Program and achieve targets, you will work closely with sustainability and real estate teams including transaction managers, facility managers, engineering managers, building operating engineers, project managers, vendors, and strategic partners. You will also be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting sustainability performance the client’s global real estate portfolio. Finally, you will also monitor and report key net zero trends globally to support continuous improvement of the client’s Net-Zero Program.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute net-zero roadmap across client’s global portfolio, working collaboratively with stakeholders to successfully implement program and initiatives to reach client’s objectives.Prioritize the suite of mechanisms to drive carbon reduction – including asset optimization, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon removal strategies – working with management, engineers, vendors, and strategic partners.  Develop and recommend procurement strategies to help them achieve client’s objectives cost-effectively.Be the single point of contact for all aspects of the strategy and tactical delivery of the program of interventions identified in the net-zero roadmap.Be accountable and responsible for the complete end-to-end lifecycle of the program delivery and implementation.Act as the key interface for real estate leadership, Portfolio Strategy, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Sustainable Design and Construction, Facilities Management, and Sustainability teams to drive delivery of the program at pace, communicating successes and challenges along the way to key stakeholdersCollaborate with internal stakeholders to understand opportunities and challenges to the program, build consensus, and translate those into a robust program approach and framework.Act as an advocate for the vision of the program and speak on the benefits. Balance business needs with corporate goals, adjusting strategies where possible and tempering expectations when necessary.Manage the process of change, ensuring there are tools, processes, and mechanisms to maintain, update, and communicate changes.Develop and implement an appropriate governance structure for the Net-Zero Program – including communications on strategies, plans, and progress toward goals using the appropriate metrics or KPIs to all levels of staff.Track, analyze, and report on global sustainability metrics, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (Scopes 1 and 2), energy, water, waste, and other ESG metrics. Report internally on sustainability initiatives and metrics, including ESG compliance reporting at the local, state, and federal levels.  Support external reporting and third-party assurance for annual GHG emissions. Maintain a regular publishing schedule of key information supported by review sessions with stakeholders. Understand downstream impacts of changes to the standards on partner organizations and mitigate accordingly (i.e. technology, security, amenities, etc.)Maintain awareness of global sustainability trends, tools, and metrics, and support the integration of sustainability best practices into client’s sustainability program.Access current policies and processes, identify gaps in sustainability best practices, and drive improvement including drafting of new policies.Develop community engagement and outreach programs aligned with the client’s Net Zero goals – including climate-related employee volunteering events.Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on Net Zero requests.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in subjects such environmental science, engineering, climate change, sustainability, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.10+ years of diverse professional experience in managing large-scale programs for Fortune 100 corporations.Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications.Expert understanding of relevant standards from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) including SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard.Expert understanding of The GHG Protocol, CDP, and TCFD.Expert understanding of utility data management and governance.Has advanced expertise in net-zero program management in real estate including strategic planning, transaction management, project/construction management, and facilities management.A proven record in sustainability program execution/delivery under tight timelines.An experienced leader with the ability to command a strong presence and build relationships across all engaged stakeholders.A skilled communicator with experience influencing and shaping program strategy and delivery.Strong balance of strategic and technical skills.Critical thinker with an understanding of processes, interconnections, and relationships.A knack for innovation and problem-solving with a collaborative, solutions-oriented working style.Versatility and ability to multi-task, work independently, and collaboratively in a cross-functional work environment with diverse skills and cultures.Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including experience making presentations to clients and their stakeholders – conveying complex technical information to a non-technical audience.Passion for serving clients and delivering a positive client experience.Ability to interact with client and client employees, senior management, staff, and suppliers as a professional always. Able to build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver effective services.Possess a positive attitude with a flexible and responsive approach to problem solving.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $136,000.00 - $160,000.00
