As the Senior Manager, Value Stream Lean Leader, you will drive OpEx capability development programs for the site and partner with functional leaders to define and execute improvement initiatives across the Foot Locker DC operations. This individual will dotted line to Site Sr. Director of Operations as part of the facility leadership team to lead the site strategy plan to drive improved performance in Quality, Service, and Efficiency. In addition to expert level knowledge of Operational Excellence techniques, the Senior Manager, Value Stream Lean Leader should also have subject matter expertise in one or more specific areas of operations.
The Senior Manager, Value Stream Lean Leader identifies key opportunities and gaps in the core business processes; aligns resources to these priorities; ensures appropriate charters and quality improvement methodologies, tools and techniques are being leveraged to drive improvements; and continues to be an advocate for future operational improvements by partnering with and challenging the business and leadership in system thinking and new ideas.
Responsibilities Responsible for development and implementation of Foot Locker’s operational strategic projects including Continuous Improvement, Change Management, cost optimization, and Operational Excellence Training.Create & maintain the implementation of site’s VSM for key process flows and the overall Hoshin planning model for strategic initiatives to drive the defined Continuous Improvement roadmap.Responsible for the development & execution of lean certification program for all site exempt employees, and monthly training sessions for non-exempt employees.Assist in leading large scale and complex improvement projects within operations or across facilities and effectively coordinate these programs with the project teams.Lead the execution of quarterly site Kaizen events to deliver cost savings in accordance with site strategic objectives.Mentor & develop all site front line leaders in leadership best practices inclusive of verbal & visual communication techniques as well as effective change management methodologies.Assure that practices promoting continuous improvement are adopted by the organization to drive improvements in morale, quality, delivery, and cost.Project leadership includes identifying opportunities; defining and financially justifying projects; negotiating resources; launching project teams; using good project management to manage team activities; training and coaching of Lean resources assigned to the team; leading teams to execute projects with problem solving methodology; tracking project status and results; anticipating and removing project barriers; and developing team members.Ensure projects are integrated and aligned with other business activities, improvement projects and business strategy and coordinated with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals (whenever possible).Communicate best practices and key learning's across the organization.Support the company’s commitment to employee engagement through performance-based recognition programs, critical thinking, and innovation.Utilizes continuous improvement tools and methodology to conduct root cause analysis.Leads risk identification and risk mitigating planning.You lead change management planning and execution for projects. Ensures effective, accurate, and timely communication of project information to meet the needs of identified partners.Utilizes negotiation, facilitation, meeting management, and conflict resolution skills to enhance cross-functional team performance.Facilitates project post-mortems with all key partners and identify key areas for process improvements.Act as the liaison between sites operations team, and the functional engineering SMEs to translate needed requirements for identified projects.May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, statistics, or supply chain required. Master’s degree in business or supply chain preferred.Minimum five (5) years’ experience leading lean implementations or continuous improvement.Minimum five (5) years’ experience within Distribution, Supply Chain/Logistics or Manufacturing experience. Lean certification or 6-sigma Greenbelt required. 6-sigma Blackbelt preferred.

The annual base salary range is $100000 - $120000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
