Sr. Manager Financial Projects Finance Job Description: Summary: The Sr. Manager of Financial Projects is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of all aspects of NJ TRANSIT’s financial projects activities. The role is focused on implementing all activities related initiatives to modernize and upgrade NJ TRANSIT’s financial systems and large-scale internal projects. This is a multi-disciplinary position that requires finance / financial analysis, communication, and project management experience and a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across NJ TRANSIT divisions and departments. Roles and Responsibilities: + Review existing business processes with a focus on simplifying, standardizing, and automating them for efficiency. + Create and document business process and procedures across the Finance department including process flowcharts. + Assist with creating and updating Finance policies and procedures per best practices and conducts research, if needed. + Experience in developing metrics, KPI’s, and reports using large data sets. + Manage the preparation of project-related status reports, presentations, and documents for the department. · Assist in testing with system upgrades and implementations including change management activities. + Supports the origination, analysis, structuring, documentation, and execution of NJ TRANSIT’s finance projects. + Assists in performing gap analysis of NJ TRANSIT’s financial processes to identify areas of improvement and develops an action plan to close the gaps. + Interacts with other NJ TRANSIT divisions and departments to understand objectives and recognize challenges that must be addressed when working on projects and process improvements. + Provides interdepartmental financial support, conducts Ad Hoc reporting and data analysis. + Participate in special projects and initiatives related to the Finance department. + Other duties as assigned. Supervision Given to: + NA Education, Experience and Qualifications: Minimum: + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. + Minimum of Five (5) Years of related experience. + Strong, presentation and computer skills. Preferred: + Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields. + Master's degree may substitute 1 year of experience. + Project Management certifications Essential: Knowledge and Skills: + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Excellent organizational and presentation skills. + Strong analytical skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. + Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. + Demonstrated ability to complete short- and long-term projects effectively and as efficiently as possible. + Demonstrates initiative and takes ownership of work. + Must possess ability to identify, prioritize, evaluate, resolve, and escalate problems promptly. + Must be a self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks, and activities simultaneously with adherence to deadlines.
