OR 9+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree. Physical Requirements: • Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs. Qualcomm is looking for an experienced member for the Engineering Compute Global Grid Solutions and Systems Engineering Team (GSS). A geographically dispersed team that manages engineering computing resource management systems and technologies throughout the enterprise. The team’s responsibilities include assuring global DRM service availability, optimization, maintenance, and standardization Responsibilities Perform LSF and License Scheduler configuration changes in large clusters with complex configurations. Collaborate with frontline support teams by troubleshooting and resolving DRM issues related to service availability, performance, and SLA compliance. Participate and drive capability development for optimizing computing environment that may be contributing to impaired resource management services within the compute grid Interface with other Engineering Compute teams to drive follow-through of issue impacting GSS-managed services around the world. Drive opportunities for architectural improvements in DRM services and provide input to the Grid Architects. Grid Scheduler, Grid Platform architecture, Engineering workflows’ execution impacting Grid Performance and License Scheduler experience. Good understanding of Perl and shell programming & debugging in UNIX/Linux environments. Good insight to the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and the semiconductor design process Experience developing solutions for complex computing resource management requirements Ability to leverage grid performance metrics for troubleshooting and optimizing computing environments Deep knowledge of Grid best practices and expertise of configuration options, capabilities, limitations, troubleshooting and performance tuning Thorough understanding and practical knowledge of high-performance computing environments and distributed resource management concepts and solutions, particularly within the EDA space Experience with formal Change management processes preferred Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural collaboration skills Good communication with superb verbal, written, and presentation skills Required to work to a high standard, be self-motivated and work well in a team From the ITIL frame-work perspective, as a capability operations owner for the Grid Systems Engineering, you would be responsible for: • Incident Management for the Grid viz. aging of all elevated incident tickets, creating and reviewing the incident reports, driving the major incident’ resolution pertaining to the capability and tracking them for the closure. • Performing problem management for repeated issues, doing RCA analysis using various best practices and known methodologies, reporting out the problems, working with the vendors on issues/bugs with the COTS tools, interacting with peer organizations where the problem may have occurred due to ecosystem elements beyond the supported capability • Owning end-to-end change management process • Creating the release plans for the deployment of enhancements or internal custom tools/projects to support, upgrade the tools/processes of the capability • Responsible for Configuration management of the capability performing the duties of maintaining CMDB, updating the Cis and run the audits of CMDB periodically • Provide periodic reports on capacity indicators to the management for scaling up the environment • Influence the architecture changes and decisions for maintainability and scalability keeping a focus on systems’ stability • Responsible for providing availability improvement plans **Applicants** : Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
