Sr. Manager of Bakery Quality Assurance & Food Safety

The Senior Manager of Bakery Quality Assurance and Food Safety supports Tatte’s efforts to provide comfort and joy, and to inspire, care for and nurture life, every day, by ensuring that every product leaving our bakeries meets the highest standards of excellence. This Sr. Manager plays a crucial role in our operations, overseeing Total Quality Management to uphold operational excellence, bakery quality, food safety, and team member safety. This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, and Safety practices, as well as government regulations. Key Responsibilities:

Develops. implements, and refines Total Quality Management (TQM) systems to ensure accuracy and quality in production processes Conducts regular formal audits (GMP, Food Safety, and Allergen Safety Audits) to maintain & ensure quality standards, document activities and findings, and recommends corrective actions, when necessary, in bakeries, catering kitchens and cafes Collaborates with bakery managers to find tangible solutions for product quality issues and guest/client/internal customer feedback Establishes systems in partnership with Ops Services and L&D Teams for monitoring product quality Maintains strong and effective relationships with all Tatte managers, supervisors, and team members Initiates proactive communication with operational teams through visiting cafes, catering kitchens and bakeries across markets to collect feedback and provide thoughtful feedback and coaching to protect Tatte bakery excellence Performs monthly environmental audits and coordinates with 3rd party vendors for testing Ensures all regulatory documentation is completed accurately and on time Conducts mock recalls twice a year, assessing gaps and implementing changes Manages communication with FDA and other regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with regulations Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and educating bakery teams about safety compliance processes and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations, including OSHA and Department of Transportation regulations Responsible for educating cafe and catering teams on procedures and systems for protecting bakery product quality in cafes and catering kitchens Develops and maintains quality specifications for new products, collaborating with Bakery Innovation Continuously improves QA processes, systems, tools, and training Maintains understanding of and follows crisis management procedures Promotes, models, and maintains Tatte culture and ensures all Tatte Polices are adhered to Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions / Essential Functions:

Able to stand for 10 hours per shift/day, 5 days a week, totaling an average workweek of 50 hours Able to push, lift, and carry 50 lbs. regularly Able to grasp and reach overhead Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends as needed Travel required (50-75%)

Position Requirements:

5-7+ years’ experience in quality assurance, food safety, and safety management

Experience developing and implementing food quality, food safety, and safety systems PCQI or equivalent certification, or willingness to become certified Solution-focused attitude with strong problem-solving capabilities Appreciation for the smallest details Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively Excellent written and verbal in communication skills, including active listening, and presenting to small and large groups Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Able to work independently, self-start, and hold oneself accountable Proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred Skills:

Certifications in Six Sigma, ASQ, or equivalent Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and English
