Job Description – Sr. Manager (eCommerce Team)
Develop the organization’s SEO strategy, identify SEO success metrics, and have responsibility for ongoing optimization efforts to drive traffic and sales. by identifying and improving organic search KPIs.Own the corporate-wide SEO roadmap and define the tactics to achieve the SEO strategy.Align JCG’s content and technical SEO implementation with Google’s algorithmic priorities, such as EEAT, Core Updates, Helpful Content Updates, and Natural Language Processing/Entity-Based approach (BERT).Demonstrate a proven ability to quantify LOE vs. ROI for SEO action items, especially in the context of the overall product roadmap. Partner with eCommerce technology teams to optimize websites for SEO. Scope includes, but is not limited to, URL structure, site map, indexing, JavaScript rendering, crawl budget management, internal linking, and more.Partner with the creative and content delivery teams to develop and implement SEO strategies. Review content on a regular basis to identify opportunities, points of improvement, and creative solutions for SEO.Partner with the merchandising team to optimize copy (e.g. product names, destinations, etc.) for SEO.Continually audit the sites, monitor activity, analyze performance, identify areas of opportunity and recommend ways to drive traffic and improve KPIs.Partner with external SEO vendors on SEO strategies, workflows, and improvement opportunities.Actively participate in the global SEO community to stay current on SEO trends and to gather new SEO skills that will give the business a competitive edge.Collaborate with PPC business owners and vendors to align SEO and SEM strategies and tactics.Review and report on results through dashboards and regular updates, including to the senior leadership team.Prepare and lead content pitches and other SEO strategy proposals delivered to Marketing and eCommerce leadership teams.Develop a plan for JCG to successfully transition into AI-based search generative experiences.Regularly provide SEO trainings for dev, product and editorial teamsEmploy the use of SEO tools such as SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, etc. to identify trends, issues, and opportunities to further optimize SEO.Prerequisites
5+ years of proven experience leading SEO strategy and execution; seniority is critical. Deep understanding of Google’s patterns of behavior and expectations.
Experience: The candidate must have a proven and successful track record in the design and delivery of SEO plans and strategies in fast-paced businesses, preferably performing the functions of a technical SEO lead. In addition, a suitable candidate will have had substantial experience working in a managerial position involving a team in, either an SEO, Content Editing, or Content Marketing capacity. The SEO will have a proven ability to take responsibility and sensibly account for a team’s performance. As a bonus, the role will also have experience in influencer marketing and have a passion for all things social in the business’s market field.
Analytical Skills: This role also portrays great analytical skills and can draw insight from raw information and data acquired through field research. The Sr. Manager will have the ability to analyze data for the purpose of determining SEO strategies, approaches, and content planning. The candidate will also demonstrate an ability to conduct SEO analyses for trends, links, and influencers. SEO Sr. Manager will also demonstrate an intimate understanding and interest in analytical tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Google Search Console and others.
A suitable candidate for this position will not only demonstrate great understanding of SEO but also of various digital marketing channels, for example, PR, web development, content creation, social media, on-site usability, off-site optimization, among others. In addition the Sr. Manager will show familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, AJAX CSS, and other valuable media technologies.
Leadership/People Skills: The candidate must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. A suitable candidate will have a strong ability to encourage and motivate a cross-functional team into working towards a unified vision and objective.

Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $151,000.00At J.Crew Group (JCG) we aim to pay competitively for our company’s size and industry. The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The base salary is just one component of J.Crew Group’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes the opportunity for bonus, competitive benefits and perks.
