About the opportunity

eBay Motors is a multi-billion dollar global portfolio comprised of Parts & Accessories, Business & Industrial, Vehicles, and WHI (a B2B Parts & Accessories marketplace in US). Among the largest categories on eBay, these businesses are core to eBay’s strategic future and are actively innovating to change the game – at eBay and in the broader market.

We are looking to hire a Senior Manager of Strategy and Key Initiatives, who will support the Motors leadership team. This role will be responsible for framing strategy, creating and refining business cases, crafting compelling executive-ready narratives, and driving execution for a subset of critical programs within the Global Motors growth portfolio. Key partners will include (among others): Product & tech, analytics, marketing, finance, operations, pricing, legal, and business development.

Strategic leadership & strong communication skills: Ability to break down tough problems into clear frameworks and compelling data-backed narratives.Marketplace experience: Deep understanding of the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces.Bias towards ownership & action: Ability to step up and take the lead when needed to accelerate progress, especially in the face of ambiguity.Leading through influence: Ability to build strong relationships, gain consensus, and create followership across partners and functions.

The impact you will make

Own key initiative strategy, business case development & refinement, and executive-ready presentations Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Global Motors teamHandle key initiatives including milestone development and KPI trackingOwn ad-hoc reporting and quantitative deep-dive projects as required.Collaborate with cross-functional partners: Ensure alignment with other eBay stakeholders and teams.

What you bring to the team

Track record of eCommerce strategic planning and execution, ideally in a marketplace setting.High degree of ownership and commitment to results.Motivated self-starter: Driven to proactively find opportunities and challenges in the business.Structured thinking, and ability to prioritize against multiple initiativesExecutive-level verbal and written communication skills, PowerPoint expertise is a must.Proven track record to project manage a group of peers and lead through influence as a collaborator and partner.Data-driven approach to planning and decision making. Comfortable and hands-on with data, analytics, and modeling.Organized problem solver who balances attention to detail with efficiency.Ambition to grow professionally and willingness to work hard, learn/adapt, and provide feedback both upward and to peer teams.

Other requirements

6+ years of related experience, including 3+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or in a strategy & planning role at a major corporation.Industry experience required in e-commerce, retail, consumer goods, or consumer tech.BA/BS required.MBA or similar graduate degree is preferred.Experience in the following areas is preferred: Automotive parts and accessories, used/salvage parts, supply chain, cross-border trade, Global partnerships.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$130,400 - $193,600

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
