Summary:
The Sr. Managing Director, Employee Benefits is the single accountable leader for driving strategic results for employee benefits insurance in the agency. As a member of the HII executive team, the role participates in the decision-making process necessary for the successful attainment of agency goals in addition to having overall accountability for the performance of the Employee Benefits segment. This individual will be responsible for strategic growth, book retention, expenses and overall profit for the segment. The segment includes Employee Benefit Sales, Employee Benefits Account Management, Employee Benefits Subject Matter Expertise (e.g. Wellness, Compliance, Data & Analytics), and Employee Benefits Carrier Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute employee benefits strategy for profitable growth within the agency across all account sizes.Accountable to build and deliver the financial plan for the employee benefits segment within the agency.Build a sales culture by designing selling approaches in partnership with the sales enablement leader in the agency, setting sales goals and matching incentives to drive outcomes.Ensures excellent client experience delivered through the account management team to drive retention and to live into the HII vision of putting the customer at the center of everything done within the agency.Builds out and deploys subject matter expertise to support the sales and service process.Leads carrier management to ensure capacity is available across markets and optimization of tools/training in the space.Strong leadership with a focus on talent recruitment, development and retentionPerforms other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree10+ years of related experience in Employee Benefits brokerage experience.10+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record of success developing leaders, growing revenue and improving profitability.Life & Health Insurance licenseAbility to obtain and maintain applicable insurance licenses as needed.Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional grammar and demeanor.Ability to interact effectively with all levels across the organization.Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team --oriented environment.Problem solving skills/ability to handle complex issues.Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.High energy, results driver with strong coaching ability. Broad-Based Business knowledge with emphasis on Leadership, Sales Development and Client Service.Strong presence and C-level experience with a bias toward negotiation and consultative sales.Ability to effectively navigate conflict with customers and partners.
