Job Summary

The Sr. Configuration Control Manufacturing Engineer will work as a focal point with cross functional stakeholders to ensure that the configuration of all aerospace products is fully defined, traceable, and auditable for the complete lifecycle of a specific aerospace program. The Sr. Configuration Control Manufacturing Engineer will support operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing superior engineering and problem-solving skills. The configuration engineer will keep an overview of all documents within a customer account. They will deliver robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to both materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.

Job Responsibilities Responsible for aerospace configuration compliance to Customer and Industry requirements. Interfaces and liaisons with multiple functional groups including Supply Chain, Quality and Production Operations to develop strategies for implementation of released engineering. The Senior Configuration Engineer will administer the regular meeting and agenda of the and Change Control Boards (CCB). Responsible for the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) accuracy. The engineer will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to implement and operate configuration control processes for full product/process development. Work closely with other Configuration Engineers and cross functional team members to guide and manage the governed processes. Participate on team to define a set of processes and technologies that control changes to product definition for Engineering, Manufacturing & Services. Defines and maintains MBOM requirements including condition of supply documents and applicable substitutes per engineering definitions and requirements. Identifies opportunities for improvement, documents, and prepares initiatives for process and/or engineering change to reduce cost and increase quality. Audits and recommends improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Production Engineering Department's procedures and processes.
  Job Qualifications Bachelor degree in Engineering or other related field equivalent experience. 6 (six) years experience in the manufacturing engineering-configuration field. U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Configuration Management certification preferred. Six Sigma Training or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling and planning principles and tools. Aerostructures (metallics and/or composites) experience preferred. Intermediate to advanced experience utilizing tools such as MRP systems, CATIA/ENOVIA, MS Office Suite ((Word, Excel, Visio (or equivalent) PowerPoint and Project. Demonstrates personal leadership skills; high performance behaviors, self-initiative, excellent work ethic, exercises good judgment, influencing, negotiation and collaboration. Expect up to 10% travel in this role depending upon location and business needs. Compensation Data

Compensation Salary: $99,716.00 - $124,645.00
