Senior Manufacturing Engineer
The following duties are essential, though other tasks may be assigned as needed: Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes for the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. Coordinate with design engineering for the release of new products. Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements for new or existing product lines. Maintain records and reporting systems to coordinate manufacturing operations. Perform new process development, monitor, and maintain processes in all areas of manufacturing, including assembly, soldering, coating, preparation, and related equipment, adhering to ISO-9001-2000, J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 Class 3, and other quality standards related to DoD contracts. Generate, implement, and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, lot travelers, flow diagrams, procedures, and manufacturing proposal documentation. Evaluate, troubleshoot, recommend, and implement solutions for manufacturing processes, operational systems, procedures, and documentation. Select, propose, and occasionally design equipment and tooling for manufacturing, and manage their setup, process development, implementation, and maintenance. Support manufacturing and proposal efforts by establishing and maintaining labor standards, cost estimates, capacity planning, throughput time standards, floor layouts, and schedules. Serve as a primary interface for customers and vendors regarding problem-solving, bid proposals, and related issues. Perform electrical, software, and mechanical designs, and review drawings, blueprints, schematics, work orders, vendor catalogs, and other technical data to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements. Initiate requests for engineering changes to ensure compliance with established standards. Prepare documentation to support various needs, including test plans, test procedures, test reports, reliability and life studies, and reports on failure analysis. Write and address change requests, including Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Notices, Engineering Change Proposals, Requests for Deviations, and Requests for Waivers.
