Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Job Overview

Help drive implementation of continuous improvement projects.

Provide technical assistance to manufacturing and support departments.

Optimize manufacturing processes through investigation and implementation of advanced manufacturing techniques and equipment to ensure total manufacturing costs are minimized.

Utilize sound manufacturing and industrial engineering practices of work measurement, plant layout, material handling and systems analyses to conduct studies of alternatives for improving manufacturing operations and to eliminate waste.

Develop processes and tooling requirements to meet customer specifications.

Maintain procedures work instructions for all engineering tasks.

Develop and maintain CNC programs.

Key Job Responsibilities Develop manufacturing processes (routings, standards, raw material selection, and process drawings) which sequence production of parts to customer specifications utilizing the SAP business system. Develop and maintain CNC programs using CAM software. Design tooling (fixturing, gauging, cutting tools) required for each process. Recommend the purchase of new equipment, systems and facilities to reduce manufacturing costs and meet strategic business plan. Provide technical support and participate with manufacturing in problem solving to meet customer specifications. Support lean manufacturing activities throughout manufacturing facility.  Assist in the implementation of Operational Excellence. Support quality department in investigating non-conformances rout cause analysis, identifying, and implementing corrective actions, and creating rework routers. To assist Production Control/ Purchasing in finding suitable vendors for outside operations

 

Qualifications/Requirements 4-year degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Manufacturing with a minimum of 8 years of experience required. Ability to express manufacturing concepts conversationally in meetings, face to face, over the phone and in email Ability to work with people on a manufacturing floor in a productive nature Can plan and manage projects with manufacturing engineers, other internal departments, manufacturing sites, and suppliers to meet deadlines Additional Information
