Sr. Materials Planner
Job Title: Senior Material Planner

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Material Planner to join our niche Cameras & Imagers team. Our team designs and produces specialized scientific and radiation-hardened video cameras consisting of solid-state imaging systems used in life science applications. The Material Planner will be responsible for overseeing materials management processes, including supply chain and inventory, and developing strategies to improve on-time delivery and positively impact company revenue.

ResponsibilitiesProvide oversight of the procurement and supply chain process to ensure materials are on order and delivery dates support shipping schedules for finished products.Interact with various functions including Finance, Sales, Procurement, Engineering, and Management to understand business requirements and align on execution plans.Ensure data integrity in the ERP system, reconciling discrepancies to align with physical inventory.Analyze inventory levels to minimize inventory days of supply (DoS) and carrying costs to meet the Operation’s annual operating plan (AOP).Establish shipping schedules for standard product lines in collaboration with the Operations Manager.Develop and maintain systems to manage vendor lead times and order quantities to meet customer shipping schedules.Manage the tracking of product returns through the quality, rework, and delivery process.Develop tools and strategies for proactively identifying and resolving material shortages to prevent impact on established shipping schedules.Lead the physical inventory process including reconciling cycle counts, managing non-conforming materials inventory, end-of-life stock, and scrap.Prepare and analyze monthly inventory forecast reports in collaboration with Operations Management, forecasting financial impacts of inventory to AOP.Manage and report on vendor pricing inflation and purchased part variances (PPV).Develop and collaborate on strategies to reduce inventory costs.Maintain the ERP system for Operations and coordinate continuous improvements on the database with IT when required.Ensure mid-stream engineering changes and drawing revisions are managed correctly in the ERP system so that the proper part design levels are procured.Act as a back-up for issuing purchase orders to vendors and confirming delivery times.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.8 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.6 years’ experience with ERP systems in a materials coordination capacity.Strong knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes.Demonstrated history of providing leadership and oversight for a manufacturing materials organization.Highly proficient with MS Excel including pivot tables and macros for data analysis.Strong analytical skills; able to synthesize and analyze high volumes of data.Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks.Excellent communication skills; listening, verbal, and written.Ability to problem-solve and identify potential issues with demand or supply.Detailed and process-oriented.Developed interpersonal and team-building skills.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV considered an asset.Work Environment

The role involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The candidate will be using various technologies and equipment, with a focus on ERP systems and MS Excel. The position requires coordination with multiple departments and strong collaboration skills. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00
