Introduction
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in designing High-Pressure Grinding Roll (HPGR) equipment to join our Product Engineering team within the Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro Business Line of our Services Business Area.
You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and engineering support during the execution of project-specific engineering and development projects for HPGR equipment, which involves overseeing design work, ensuring project requirements are met, and advancing product development. Your role plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality solutions to our clients and continuously improving our product offerings. In this position, you will report to the Manager of Product Engineering.
This position is located in York, Pennsylvania (USA), and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options with ideally three days per week at the office. This role involves about 4-8 weeks of traveling annually. Please note that relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.

You will join a global team of experienced mechanical engineers who strive to advance the design and development of HPGR equipment within the mining industry. We are currently working on research and development projects and focusing on operational improvements and product updates.
We collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Product Lines, management, and the engineering team in Vadodara, India, who support our R&D activities. Our team culture emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and open communication. Team members are based in York, PA (USA), and Sorocaba, Brazil.
What you’ll do
Oversee detailed design work in standard product development and delivery projects related to HPGR equipment. Review and achieve project engineering, quality, cost, and schedule requirements. Work closely with Product Lines and management to set engineering design guidelines and standards for upgrades, retrofits, and refurbishments of mining equipment support arrangements. Prepare detailed scopes of work for the upgrade of existing equipment. Perform calculations to ensure the safe function of equipment for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit. Prepare mechanical drawings to facilitate fabrication, construction, and installation of equipment or services. Visit customer offices and plants to determine physical restrictions or limitations for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit projects. Provide technical support to field service representatives and recommend improvements to enhance field methods and efficiency.
Who you are
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
A Mechanical Engineering degree. At least five years of experience designing HPGR equipment or ten years of experience with grinding products in the mining industry. Strong proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling using industry-standard CAD software for the design and development of mechanical systems. Experience in Bill of Materials (BOM) management. Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for mechanical linear analysis. Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools like Teamcenter, Vault, or Enovia.
Experience with the following is considered an advantage:
Casting design. Working knowledge of SAP is. Rubber parts manufacturing.
