As a Sr. Microsoft Technology Consultant, you will be at the forefront of transforming how our customers engage with Microsoft technologies to drive their business success. You will harness your deep understanding of Microsoft’s suite of products to craft bespoke solutions that align with our client’s strategic objectives. Your insights will empower organizations to navigate the complexities of digital transformation, leveraging cutting-edge Microsoft technologies to optimize operations, foster innovation, and achieve competitive advantage. 

 

Your responsibilities will include close collaboration with our internal sales force, providing them with the technical expertise and product knowledge necessary to identify and seize new business opportunities. You will act as a bridge between Microsoft’s innovations and our customers’ aspirations, translating technical possibilities into business realities. You will ignite enthusiasm and confidence in Microsoft’s ability to meet and exceed our clients’ diverse needs through engaging workshops, tailored training sessions, and compelling product demonstrations. 

 

In this dynamic role, you will be instrumental in shaping our go-to-market strategies, ensuring they resonate with current industry trends and customer expectations. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an accessible manner will educate and inspire our customers and internal teams alike. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and technological curiosity, you will play a critical role in driving customer acquisition, satisfaction, and ultimately, contributing to a close relationship between Microsoft and SHI. 

 

The Microsoft Technology Consultant will report to the Manager – Microsoft Licensing and can be based in Milton Keynes, Barnsley U.K. offices, or Nationwide from a home office. It is expected that this role may require occasional travel both nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to: 

Serve as a subject matter expert on Microsoft products and technologies. Be a Microsoft evangelist to promote SHI customers’ Microsoft journeys through webinars, blogs, SHI summits, industry events, and direct customer engagements.    Collaborate with internal sales teams to identify customer needs and align Microsoft solutions accordingly. Advocate Microsoft and SHI’s solutions to SHI Account Executives and their customers. Engage with customers to understand their business objectives and recommend Microsoft technologies that support their growth roadmap. Conduct presentations and demonstrations of Microsoft products to both technical and non-technical audiences. Provide ongoing support and guidance to customers, ensuring successful implementation and utilization of Microsoft solutions. Stay abreast of the latest Microsoft technologies and industry trends to provide informed recommendations. Provide internal training to mentor and support SHI team members Microsoft learning.  Drive the acquisition of new customers and nurture existing relationships to increase customer retention. Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that highlight the benefits of Microsoft products. Track and report on key performance metrics, including customer acquisition rates and revenue growth from Microsoft product sales.  Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field or relevant experience. 7 years experience with Microsoft products, including Azure, Office 365, Dynamics 365, and others. Strong understanding of business processes and how technology can enhance operational efficiency. Experience in sales or customer-facing roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Demonstrable experience delivering Microsoft licensing and associated solutions and will be considered a knowledge leader in Microsoft. Demonstrated experience understanding complex, organizational-impacting technology issues  Required Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise language for non-technical audiences.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to understand all aspects of the IT lifecycle—from licensing to purchasing to deployment to decommissioning.Proactive mindset with a sales mentality Entrepreneurial mindset – ability to quickly adapt and improvise in customer engagements Ability to understand enterprise customer business challenges and goals Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including public speaking, white board discussion and executive presentations Ability to work collaboratively with other internal departments and sales teams Outstanding customer service, relationship management, collaboration, presentation, and communication skills Possess a real passion for technology  Willingness to learn new solutions, technologies, approaches Excellent organizational and time management skills Exceptional troubleshooting, and analytical skills Initiative to research and resolve problems  Certifications Required

The Microsoft Technology Consultant will hold some or all the following accreditations; if accreditations are not currently held, they will have to self-study and pass within a brief period of starting the role.   

Mandatory certifications:  Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)   Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900)   Supplemental:  Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)  Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900)   Additional Information The estimated annual pay range for this position is £80,000 - £130,000 which includes a base salary, commission, and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
